IBFD’s Knowledge Centre currently has a challenging position for a Transfer Pricing Specialist (Senior Associate).

The IBFD Knowledge Centre is home to most of the tax specialists within IBFD. It is a publications and research department with staff engaged in updating and reviewing IBFD’s publications, conducting research in international tax, and lecturing on various tax topics. The Knowledge Centre is comprised of several Knowledge Groups focused either on particular geographic regions or on specialist international tax topics. The research staff of the Knowledge Centre is drawn from all over the world, having expertise in the tax systems of various countries, as well as specialization in key areas of taxation.

The VAT, Transfer Pricing and Specialist Knowledge Group is part of IBFD’s Knowledge Centre. This Knowledge Group is responsible for among others IBFD’s flagship publications on transfer pricing: the Global Transfer Pricing Explorer and the International Transfer Pricing Journal. In addition, the Knowledge Group is responsible for publications in the field of tax risk management and tax accounting. This Knowledge Group is also responsible for delivering on IBFD’s transfer pricing business objectives, including the preparation and review of transfer pricing publications, delivery of transfer pricing lectures, and government consultancy services in the area of transfer pricing.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Associate to join our dynamic team. This role involves tax technical and editorial responsibility for an assigned portfolio of publications, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, authoritative content on TP topics. The successful applicant will produce and review high-quality, technically accurate content on TP concepts, tailored to meet the needs of advanced professionals and stakeholders. They will deliver engaging lectures and presentations to advanced audiences, demonstrating a deep understanding of the field. The role involves close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of experts, as well as managers and staff from various IBFD Knowledge Groups and departments. Additionally, the successful candidate will contribute to the continuous improvement of publications and knowledge offerings through proactive engagement and subject-matter expertise.

Main responsibilities

  • Tax technical management of TP portfolios, including responsibility for quality assurance of all research output of freelancers, and achieving all publishing deliverables for the portfolio
  • Manage, review and edit TP publications
  • Responsible for new product development in the area of transfer pricing (including data and AI solutions)
  • Designing tax courses (online and face-to-face)
  • Conducting tax training sessions for IBFD’s clients
  • Participating in client requests
  • Preparation of technical notes, articles, surveys, updates, and other analytical material
  • Assist with other non-TP publications on an ad hoc basis and answer questions about the content
  • Relationship-building and relationship management (for authors, correspondents, and allied organisations)
  • Provide support to other departments of IBFD

Requirements

  • University degree in law, accounting, economics or other relevant area (a relevant post-graduate qualification – vocational or academic – is a distinct advantage)
  • 5-10 years’ experience in the field of transfer pricing of one or more jurisdictions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong emphasis on being a team player and fostering collaboration
  • A proactive mindset and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Keen interest in and experience with data analytics or affinity with tax technology solutions
  • Excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills
  • Strong client service orientation

  • Proven project management skills, working in teams and contributing to high-performing teams

  • Very good presentation skills
  • Native (or equivalent) command of the English language (knowledge of other languages will be an advantage)
  • A distinct advantage - experience gained from developing AI or data TP solutions

Salary & fringe benefits

We offer a full-time position with a starting salary, depending on background and relevant work experience, between EUR 4100 and EUR 6200 gross per month. Completed by an attractive package of fringe benefits, including:
