Job Description

What will you do?

As an Analyst in our Operational Risk Management (ORM) team, you'll be an integral part of our efforts to identify, analyze, and manage operational risks.

  • Support and improve the periodic risk reporting of ORM by applying your PowerBI and AI skills and grow your operational risks knowledge;
  • Ensure the data quality in our GRC system;
  • Support the monitoring and follow-up on risk events by contributing to root-cause analysis and the formulation of actionable improvement plans;
  • Execute reviews on control effectiveness testing done by the risk owners;
  • Participate in other ORM tasks, such as the maintenance of the policies and support the product review process.

You will quickly become familiar with our processes and engage with our expert ORM network, and as your skills grow, move from analyzing and reporting to assessing and advising on improvements to be made. We value active participation and recognize and value each team member’s contribution.

Your team

Join our diverse and forward-thinking Operational Risk Management team based in The Hague, which oversees NIBC Bank's non-financial risk landscape and become part of the larger Risk, Legal, and Compliance team, consisting of over 80 skilled professionals. At NIBC, we foster an entrepreneurial spirit and reward innovation and talent. From day one, you'll gain hands-on exposure to a wide range of ORM activities, guided by our experienced team.

Our corporate values are Professional, Adaptive, Collaborative and Entrepreneurial. You will have a direct and meaningful impact on both the bank and its clients.

What’s in it for you?

NIBC provides an ambitious environment where together we strive to create a fantastic workplace in which you feel safe and challenged to be the best version of yourself.

  • Several ways to support your development personally and professionally, including a personal development budget, a professional budget provided by your manager, and in-house learning offerings;
  • NIBC embraces the hybrid way of working and supports working from home while encouraging colleagues to come to the office. NIBC's guideline is to spend at least half of the working time at the office;
  • Travel expenses or NS Business Card 1st class;
  • 32 vacation days;
  • Excellent pension scheme (26% NIBC contribution);
  • A voucher to improve your home office;
  • The opportunity to take ownership and show initiative in your role. We are always open to new ideas and encourage you to use your voice;
  • The nature of our Grow to Make a Difference program enables you to be in charge of your own development;
  • Two staff associations: YoungNIBC and MyLeisure;
  • Vitality program, annual company-wide sports and leisure days;
  • Monthly internet allowance;
  • Laptop and a company phone;
  • Excellent facilities at the office;
  • A fun workplace.

What do you bring?

  • Power BI literacy, with the ability to analyze and present data;
  • An interest in financial services and risk management;
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate findings effectively;
  • Eagerness to learn, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.

We are seeking motivated professionals who are passionate about risk management and making a meaningful impact. Whether you’re starting your career or bringing 0-2 years of experience, we are looking for individuals who are eager to learn, contribute, and grow with us.

No relevant working experience required.

Fresh ideas and new perspectives are more than welcome at our bank. Don't have any relevant professional experience in banking and finance yet, but interested in the field nonetheless? In that case, we're very curious to learn more about you and what you can bring to the table with your unique background. As for the ins and outs of working in a bank, you'll have a unique opportunity within the ORM team to gain a broad perspective of the organization and learn the banking business on the job.

Founded in 1945, we financed the visionary entrepreneurs who helped rebuild the Netherlands after the second world war. Entrepreneurship is in our DNA. By working closely together and professionally supporting companies and individuals, we enable them in realising their ambitions with a sustainable future in mind. We are a bank with a dynamic and ambitious culture, we have a forward-thinking, can-do attitude that we call our THINK YES mentality.
