Monumental is automating on-site construction with robotics and software. Our mission is to make construction software-defined and autonomous - a future where beautiful, bespoke buildings go up in a single day, with minimal labour.

We're a growing team of engineers, operators and technicians from companies like Palantir, Qualcomm, Dyson, Shopify, Tesla, Meta and Google DeepMind. It's still the early days of building the company, and this is a chance to make an outsized impact on a problem that matters. From day one, you’ll be working with an experienced founding team.

Monumental builds the whole stack in-house - hardware and software - and is an onsite company, with teams working together in Amsterdam five days a week. We're explicitly not a hybrid or remote-first company - you can't build robots or walls from home.

About the role

We’re looking for working students to support our Electronics team in building the hardware that powers our construction robots. Your primary responsibility will be assembling E-drawers, the central electronics module that acts as the brain of our robotic wagons. You’ll work alongside our electronics technicians, gaining hands-on experience while helping build the electronics that bring our robots to life.

As part of a fast-paced robotics startup, you’ll be surrounded by autonomous construction robots and the teams building them. With engineers from a range of disciplines working around you, there will be plenty of opportunities to learn and gain real world experience in electronics manufacturing and robotics.

Applicants must be based in the Netherlands, eligible to work and able to commute onsite to Amsterdam to be considered.

What you’ll do

  • Assemble E-drawers, the core electronics module of our robotic wagons.
  • Build PCB stacks and assembly wiring harnesses.
  • Perform soldering and cable assembly.
  • Support electronics technicians with electronics assembly and production tasks.
  • Keep your workspace organized and follow quality and safety procedures.

What we’re looking for

  • You’re currently studying Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
  • You enjoy building things and working with your hands.
  • You have some experience with electronics assembly or soldering through your studies, personal projects, or hobbies.
  • You’re detail-oriented and take pride in producing high-quality work.
  • You’re eager to learn and enjoy working as part of a team.

Why Monumental?

Joining Monumental means being at the forefront of a movement aimed at making significant strides in the construction industry. Here, your work has the potential to impact not just the company but the future of how we build. If you're driven by innovation, eager to tackle complex challenges, and ready to make a tangible difference, we want to hear from you.

Unfortunately we do not currently support internships.

If you don’t meet all the qualifications here but are excited about Monumental and feel you’d still be able to help us solve difficult problems, we welcome generalists who focus on outcomes and are eager to learn on the job.

Monumentals mission is to make construction primarily software-defined and work towards a future where beautiful, bespoke buildings are built within a single day with minimal labor.
