Job Description

As a Clinical Development Scientist, you will help shape the clinical evidence behind Philips’ next-generation CT innovations, including Photon Counting CT. In this highly visible role, you will design and execute clinical studies that support regulatory submissions, scientific evidence generation, and commercial claims for new CT products.

You will work in Philips’ global Medical Office and report into the Clinical Affairs Leader, collaborating closely with R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, and external clinical partners. This is a role for an experienced professional who can work independently, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and bring strong scientific and strategic thinking to complex clinical development programs.

Your role

  • Design and execute clinical studies supporting regulatory submissions, product claims, and evidence generation for CT innovations
  • Analyze clinical trial protocols and provide recommendations to ensure regulatory compliance and strategic alignment
  • Develop clinical development strategies in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders including R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Health Economics, and Post Market Surveillance
  • Author and review Clinical Evaluation Reports (CERs), Clinical Study Reports (CSRs), and clinical sections of regulatory submissions
  • Interpret and synthesize clinical data, ensuring high-quality reporting, consistency, and scientific rigor
  • Support dissemination of evidence through abstracts, white papers, and peer-reviewed publications
  • Collaborate with Key Opinion Leaders, investigators, and hospital partners to enable successful study execution
  • Present evidence and recommendations to internal stakeholders to inform business and development decisions
  • Contribute to a highly international team environment across Europe, the US, and China

You’re the right fit if

  • You have a Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, Clinical Research, or a related field; PhD preferred
  • You bring at least 5 years of experience, and ideally 7+ years, in Clinical Development / Clinical Research within the MedTech industry
  • You have experience designing and executing clinical studies and generating evidence for regulatory and/or commercial purposes
  • You are able to work independently in a senior-level individual contributor role and influence stakeholders across a global, cross-functional environment

Nice to have

  • Experience in medical imaging
  • Experience in CT (strongly preferred / ideal)
  • Experience with global or multicenter studies
  • Experience working with KOLs, investigators, and hospital partners
