Hi! We’re Enviu.

We believe in an inclusive economy that serves people and planet. We build ventures that address social and environmental issues hands-on, and drive market development. We have a large and varying network of entrepreneurs, experts, philanthropists, and enthusiasts who we team up with. We’re looking for a passionate, proactive, and impact-driven intern to join our Zero Waste team in the Netherlands.

Enviu is the expert in plastic prevention.

Enviu is a worldwide impact-driven venture building studio. We run the Zero Waste program in the Netherlands and also work on the topic in Indonesia. The program aims to radically reduce plastic pollution by creating scalable reuse and refill solutions and using on-the-ground experience to drive a thriving reuse ecosystem. These include collaboration with industry partners and governments to stimulate support for waste prevention, acting as a thought leader in relevant networks, and inspiration and awareness creation.

We are looking for support with our activities for an exciting European project that brings together our experience in building reusable glass systems and scaling these across borders. You will help conduct interviews, map and analyze data, and support the overall execution of our zero waste work in close collaboration with the Enviu team and its partners.

About the job

You will be part of the Enviu team and based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

You will have the opportunity to support our team of experts by:

  • Identifying gaps and opportunities in the reusable packaging system through research and stakeholder engagement;
  • Co-developing pilots for reusable packaging systems working cross-borders, applying human-centred design methodology;
  • Implementing ecosystem activities, including collecting data, writing reports, and supporting the completion of grant reporting;
  • Collecting data as part of our European research project by organizing interviews, making notes, and analyzing the outcomes of the interviews;
  • Supporting in organising partner network meetings and workshops as part of our European research project and documenting all data from these meetings;
  • Co-designing and co-developing reporting deliverables.

In particular you will:

  • Support our team of zero waste experts based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands;
  • Engage with our partners based in France, Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands.

About you

We are looking for a devoted master’s student who:

  • Has a technical or social science background;
  • Has a strong affinity with circular economy, system change, and social entrepreneurship;
  • Is structured and able to gather data from various different stakeholders;
  • Has a critical and independent mindset;
  • Is creative and able to develop basic communication strategies;
  • Is adaptive in multicultural environments;
  • Is fluent in English;
  • Has excellent communication skills;
  • Enjoys working in a team;
  • Is available for at least 6 months.

What's in it for you?

  • An internship with purpose and meaning, with a chance to contribute to real-world impact projects tackling global challenges;
  • Learning on the job how impact organizations operate;
  • Being part of a group of passionate colleagues and partners in a dynamic, international, and collaborative work environment;
  • Flexible working hours and hybrid options (32-40 hours a week);
  • A monthly internship allowance of 350 EUR/month;
  • A fun and vibrant office located on the Pannekoekstraat in downtown Rotterdam.

Hi! We are Enviu! When we founded Enviu in 2004, our belief was the same as it is today: An inclusive economy that serves people and planet. An economy enriching the lives of all people, providing access to basic needs. An economy sustainably utilizing the valuable and limited resources our planet endows.
To instigate this economy we build high impact social multinationals that address social and environmental issues, and drive market development.
