Your Role at Exact

As a Software Engineer, you will help build and improve our fiscal web solution. This solution allows tax specialists, accountants, and businesses to navigate an increasingly digital and regulated world. Our product is built by and for tax professionals, and it integrates closely with Exact Online Annual Reporting to streamline financial statements.

• Collaborate daily in a multidisciplinary team alongside Developers, Product Managers, UX Designers, Architects, and Domain Experts.
• Deliver meaningful software that helps thousands of users stay compliant and efficient.
• Contribute to live projects from day one while receiving dedicated mentorship to accelerate your engineering career.

What you will work on:

• Develop new functionality for Exact Online Accountancy and Fiscal solutions.
• Build secure, scalable, and maintainable backend services using .NET technologies.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Fiscal Domain Experts.
• Translate complex accounting and tax-related requirements into high-quality software solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Learn how to build software in a security-focused and cloud-native environment.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and products.

What We're Looking For:

We're looking for curious and ambitious graduates who are passionate about technology and eager to learn.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Ability to code at a junior level in .NET and C#.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for software development and technology.
• Strong communication skills in English and preferably Dutch.
• A collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn from others.

Nice to have:

• Interest in finance, accounting, taxation, or business software.
• Knowledge of data modelling, AI, algorithms, or cloud technologies.
• Experience through internships, projects, hackathons, or student jobs.
