How you can make a difference

As a Medior backend Developer (Kotlin MongoDb) you will help rebuild our traditional tech landscape (Oracle) into a modern innovative technology landscape, and create new applications to help colleagues in the business.

Your new team and office

You will be joining the “Presentation and Space” development team, working closely with other DevOps engineers, front-end developers, the solution consultant, and the product owner. As a medior backend developer, you will help the team not only migrate from Oracle, but also create a new application that will shape how the assortment is presented in stores. You will make an impactful contribution to both Albert Heijn employees and customers who shop at Albert Heijn.

• Help rebuild our traditional tech landscape and create new applications on a modern innovative tech foundation to scale our ever-growing core business.
• Build code, implement and execute automated testing, ensure security and code quality, and contribute to best practices and deployment.

What you bring

• 5+ years working with REST-based services/microservices using Kotlin/Java + Spring Boot. If you don’t have Kotlin experience but do have Java experience, you can learn while working.
• You are a developer who takes care of code quality, tests your own code, follows development principles, and helps the team not deviate from the guidelines.
• Bonus if you have also worked with MongoDB.
• Knowledge of REST, APIs, CI/CD and Cloud (Azure).
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Grafana and Prometheus is a plus.
• Familiar with Scrum/Agile methodology.
• An outstanding command of the English language.
• Hands-on experience with GenAI coding tools such as Claude Code and Copilot.
• 24/7 responsibility for application development & Ops and willingness to participate in the standby schedule.
