As part of our Internal Audit team, you'll be a trusted partner helping the Company navigate its most critical strategic, operational, compliance, and financial risks. Your work will drive meaningful change, elevate performance, and spotlight best practices across the organization.

While this is a managerial-level position, it does not involve direct team management. Instead, the role is defined by its strategic scope, autonomy, and the ability to influence stakeholders across diverse geographies and functions.

Position

In this role you will:

Plan with Purpose

  • Help craft the Internal Audit Planning Memorandum that sets the tone for each assignment.
  • Use data analytics to uncover trends and understand the business landscape.
  • Identify key risks and challenges, and help define the scope and strategy of each audit.

Execute with Impact

  • Lead or support audit assignments under expert guidance.
  • Analyze business data, conduct interviews, and test controls, with a focus on technology controls.
  • Present findings and recommendations that drive real change.
  • Document your work to the highest professional standards.

Report with Clarity

  • Draft audit findings, ensuring they are factually correct, and recommendations in crisp, clear English.
  • Collaborate with leadership to refine and finalize reports.
  • Discuss and incorporate changes recommended by the Director.

Innovate and Elevate

  • Suggest improvements to audit processes and tools.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the department’s efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Continue the development of specialist technical knowledge around IT auditing, keeping up to date as technology use in JTI develops, including new technologies such as AI, increasing use of Cloud, and changes from upgrades to existing infrastructure.
  • Act as one of the departmental IT audit SMEs.
  • Assist and coach other members of staff to develop their skills and increase auditing effectiveness and efficiency for general IT controls, and/or act as an expert advisor for a technology of choice used at JTI.

Requirements

Background & Experience

  • Relevant certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, and CRISC. Technical accreditations are considered a strong asset.
  • A relevant university degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Cybersecurity. A Master’s degree in IT Audit, Risk Management, or Governance is a strong advantage.
  • Proven familiarity with audit techniques, especially IT, risk management principles, and IT processes, including project management.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in an operational IT role, external audit, or internal audit roles.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with IT platforms and processes, either through operations or extensive audit engagements.
  • Deep understanding of technologies commonly used at JTI, such as Microsoft platforms, including Azure and SQL databases, SAP Hana, and ServiceNow.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis tools, including SQL and Power BI.
