Process Design Expert (all genders)

The Global Supply Chain Technology team is looking for an experienced Process Design expert who can bring our powder factories to the next level.

Do you have a proven track record in process design and process optimisation? And does a leading role as senior process technologist suit you?

As a key connector between Supply Chain, Manufacturing & Services, and Product Development, you play a pivotal role in translating product requirements into efficient, future-ready production processes. You will drive process optimisation, process development, conceptual design, and engineering projects within multidisciplinary teams.

What we ask

• Academic/Master degree in process technology or engineering (chemical engineering or process technology)
• >7 years’ experience in (dairy) processing industry
• Solid understanding of main technologies and processes used within our powder production facilities (membrane filtration, evaporation, spray drying etc).
• Experience in process integration and overall process design
• Experience in economical process evaluations
• Experience in modelling processes
• Proven significant experience with fact based process improvement (e.g. Lean/Six Sigma)
• Experience with the execution of large/complex projects
• Experience in Infant Food/Pharma sector is preferred
• Driven to take proactive ownership by analyzing and offering solutions

Vacancy Description

Lead and initiate the development, optimization and testing of new and existing production processes. You are responsible for the conceptual design and engineering in multidisciplinary teams with the aim of creating new, innovative, predictable and controlled production processes, by:

• Developing process concepts for new product development projects in close co-operation with M&S and R&D and seek and identify optimal solutions to meet customer requirements.
• State of the art process selection and introducing technological innovations to make our products and processes better, smarter and more sustainable.
• Continuously identify, develop and implement process optimisation opportunities by combining knowledge shared within the company, and outside expertise.
• Lead Root-Cause-Analysis of complex problems within the factory.
• You act as process licensor in Capex projects and develop technology master plans based on strategy requirements and vision.

The Global Supply Chain Technology team consists of 60 technologists organized into 6 specialized expertise teams. You'll be part of the Evaporation, Drying, Powder & Energy cluster, which consists of 10 experts dedicated to continuously optimising and improving our processes. We're the technical backbone of FrieslandCampina's production network, driving innovation and operational excellence across our global factories.

You'll be based at FrieslandCampina's Innovation Centre in Wageningen, the heart of our research and development activities. Here, we combine cutting-edge science with practical application, working alongside researchers, technologists, and product developers to drive innovation from concept to factory implementation. As a process design expert, you are in close contact with the production plants, perfectly positioned to translate innovations to our production sites.
