Within AH Tech Retail Business Platform, we are looking for an enthusiastic Backend Developer (Kotlin, MongoDB, Azure) for the sourcing domain.

This domain is responsible for the applications for sourcing and contract managers which give them insights into the retail market, support in negotiations with suppliers and manage contracts.

Your new team and office

You will be joining the Contracts DevOps team, building services in a modern innovative technology landscape that will shape the future of contract management at AH.

You will work closely with other DevOps engineers, front-end developers, the solution consultant and the product owner to co-create the new application, while also helping the team do its best possible work by mentoring other developers and sharing your experience. You make an impactful contribution not only to the employees of Albert Heijn, but also to the customers who shop at Albert Heijn.

Our engineers are passionate about their craft and want to keep learning and improving. They are not afraid to ask for what they need to make that happen, and they go the extra mile to support each other in delivering results. Joint brainstorming sessions and pair programming are regular parts of the team’s way of working.

Our teams work in a hybrid way, both from home and in the office. We can usually be found at the office in Zaandam, right next to the train station, one or two days per week.

This is how you will reinvent food retail.

• Help rebuild the traditional tech landscape and create new applications on a modern innovative tech foundation to scale the ever-growing core business.
• Build code, implement and execute automated testing, ensure security and code quality, and contribute to best practices and deployment.
• Be a valued team member who contributes and removes obstacles.
• Integrate and expand contract management capacity.

The recipe for maximum impact

Don’t check all the boxes? Don’t worry, we probably don’t either 😉. Don’t hesitate if you think you are up for the challenge.

• 5+ years working with REST-based services/microservices using Kotlin/Java and Spring Boot. If you do not have Kotlin experience but do have Java experience, you can learn while working.
• You are a developer who takes care of code quality, tests your own code, follows development principles, and helps the team stay aligned with guidelines.
• Experience with SQL (PostgreSQL) and/or MongoDB.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Grafana and Prometheus is a plus.
• Experience in frontend technologies such as React and Node/Next JS is a plus.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud (Azure) environments.
• Familiarity with Scrum/Agile methodology.
• An outstanding command of the English language.
• Responsible for application development and operations, including the possibility of a standby schedule.
