As Senior Project Leader Electromagnetic Compatibility, you will be responsible for delivering on the IGT-S business and project commitments by ensuring EMC compliance for both the installed base and new innovations through strong day-to-day ownership, clear planning, rigorous execution, and close collaboration with the labs, quality, engineering, and regulatory teams.

Your role:

  • Collaborate with the labs, quality, engineering, and regulatory teams.
  • Own and drive day-to-day EMC project execution within the IGT-S portfolio, ensuring clear planning, disciplined follow-up, hands-on coordination, and timely delivery of EMC activities.
  • Act as the strong custodian of EMC deliverables, with an unwavering focus on securing CSA-approved CBTC at least eight weeks before the major release project RfD.
  • Be actively present on the shop floor and in the labs, staying close to EMC testing, issue resolution, lab quality, planning constraints, and operational bottlenecks.
  • Create a crystal-clear vision and execution direction for the EMC team, translating project needs into practical daily priorities and carrying the team forward through strong ownership and hands-on leadership.
  • Ensure robust EMC planning across projects, including test readiness, sample availability, lab capacity, documentation, certification-body interactions, and timely closure of open issues.
  • Provide regular and transparent status updates on EMC progress, risks, dependencies, and help requests at weekly, monthly, and key project milestone reviews, enabling timely and data-driven decision-making by business and project leadership.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, regulatory, quality, lab teams, supply chain, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment, compliance, and effective execution of EMC design and test activities.
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve EMC test plans, procedures, checklists, and execution routines, ensuring adherence to applicable international standards and medical device regulatory requirements.
  • Drive timely resolution of EMC-related technical and operational issues by coordinating the right experts, escalating blockers when needed, and ensuring actions are followed through to closure.
  • Manage and coordinate external testing resources, certification bodies, and lab facilities where needed, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality EMC validation.
  • Support and strengthen lab quality and ways of working, including test discipline, documentation quality, traceability, readiness reviews, and continuous improvement of EMC execution processes.
  • Champion patient safety and product quality by ensuring EMC activities are executed in line with medical device regulations, risk management principles, and applicable quality management requirements.
  • Drive year-on-year improvements in EMC execution efficiency, increasing output, reducing avoidable delays, and improving predictability of EMC deliverables.
  • Contribute to the longer-term EMC roadmap by identifying structural improvements in tools, facilities, technical capabilities, processes, and ways of working, while remaining primarily focused on project execution and delivery.

You're the right fit if:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in EMC design, testing, validation, or certification, preferably in a regulated environment.
  • Strong hands-on EMC experience, with the ability to understand technical issues, testing constraints, compliance risks, and practical lab execution challenges.
  • Proven experience leading EMC-related project activities in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Experience working with certification bodies such as CSA, and preferably with regulatory or certification requirements related to China NMPA.
  • Knowledge of global EMC standards and requirements, including IEC, CISPR, FCC, and relevant medical device EMC standards.
  • Experience in, or strong exposure to, organizations considered world-class in EMC design, testing, validation, or certification.
  • Strong project leadership skills, with the ability to create structure, drive follow-up, manage dependencies, and ensure delivery against committed milestones.
  • Ability and willingness to be close to the work: present in labs, connected to daily execution, and actively engaged with engineers, technicians, quality, and test teams.
  • Strong collaboration and team leadership skills, with the ability to create clarity, build momentum, and bring people along.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, product quality, and risk management. Experience with ISO 14971 is a strong plus.
  • Relevant EMC certifications, such as iNARTE or CISPR-related qualifications, are a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, factual, and concise updates to project teams, business stakeholders, and senior leadership.
  • Practical, delivery-focused mindset with strong ownership, persistence, and the ability to remove obstacles in a dynamic project and lab environment.
