About the Role

We’re looking for a Sales Ledger Manager to join our Finance function, based in Amsterdam or Cambridge and operating in an international environment. This role sits within the CFO team and is responsible for leading and optimising the end-to-end revenue and sales ledger process. You’ll ensure accurate, timely invoicing, maintain strong financial controls, and manage customer accounts proactively. Alongside this, you’ll support improvements in systems and processes as GÉANT continues to evolve its finance environment. This is a hands-on role combining operational delivery, stakeholder management, and team leadership.

What You’ll Do

Revenue & Sales Ledger Management

You’ll own the end-to-end revenue process, ensuring invoices are raised accurately and on time, in line with VAT requirements. You’ll maintain the integrity of the sales ledger and oversee customer account setup.

Accounts Receivable & Debt Management

You’ll proactively manage customer accounts, monitor aged debt, and follow up on outstanding and disputed invoices. You’ll keep stakeholders informed on debt positions and escalate where needed.

Financial Control & Reporting

You’ll ensure strong internal controls across the sales ledger and lead month-end close activities related to revenue and receivables.

Leadership & Team Management

You’ll lead, develop, and support the sales ledger team, managing performance, hiring where needed, and building a collaborative, high-performing environment.

Continuous Improvement

You’ll contribute to improving accounting processes, systems, and ways of working, supporting the ongoing development of the finance function.

About You

You may be a good fit if you…

  • Have experience managing a sales ledger or end-to-end revenue process
  • Have experience working with project or grant-based accounting
  • Are fluent in English
  • Are confident working with stakeholders across finance and the wider organisation
  • Take a proactive, hands-on and solutions-focused approach

Desirable

  • Experience working in multi-currency and multi-VAT environments
  • Exposure to EU grants and project accounting
  • Strong understanding of VAT frameworks
  • Additional European language (e.g. Dutch)
  • Experience with finance systems, automation, or process improvement

Working Arrangements

This role follows GÉANT’s flexible hybrid working model.

For the first ~6 months, you’ll be expected to be in the office 4–5 days per week to support onboarding and team integration. This will reduce to around 3 days per week thereafter.

Regular travel between Amsterdam and Cambridge is required, along with occasional travel within Europe.
