In this role, you will lead the SMMA (Surface Mount & Mechanical Assembly) department, with a focus on our SMD lines and related process steps. In addition, you will act as the lead of the manufacturing performance team within our matrix structure. This multidisciplinary team ensures close collaboration between Production, Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering, enabling you to make a real impact on output, products, and processes.

The SMMA department is one of the five operational departments within Neways Advanced Applications. In addition to driving continuous improvement, you know better than anyone how to ensure our operations run as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

In addition, we ask:

• A completed bachelor’s degree (HBO), preferably in a technical field;
• Relevant work experience in a similar role within our industry is a plus;
• Demonstrable leadership experience within a technically complex production environment;
• Experience in further developing an operational department based on Lean principles;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English;
• Full-time availability.

Your daily responsibilities include

As Unit Manager SMMA, you are responsible for the overall performance of the department. This includes delivering the right output (error-free, on time, and at the lowest cost), as well as ensuring the well-being and performance of the team and its employees. You will be challenged to implement new products and processes within your department as efficiently as possible.

You drive the improvement process within the department and lead the multidisciplinary improvement team. In your daily work, you actively seek collaboration with your team and other departments while maintaining a helicopter view.

As a Production Manager, you work day shifts and are responsible for managing two to four team leaders. They operate in two- or three-shift systems and, together, are responsible for over 40 employees, including technical operators.

As Unit Manager SMMA, you report directly to the Manager Operations and are part of the Operations Team.
