Boston Consulting Group is seeking a Cross Border Working (CBW) Senior Specialist to join its LAB Mobility & Immigration team.

Opportunity within BCG's LAB Mobility & Immigration team

The Cross Border Working Senior Specialist is a key operational and advisory role within BCG's LAB Mobility & Immigration team. The role delivers cross border compliance activity for LAB, working closely with BCG's immigration vendor network and internal teams and stakeholders at all levels to ensure that compliance processes are robust, accurate, and applied consistently.

This role combines technical knowledge with strong communication skills and a collaborative problem-solving approach. The ability to explain complex cross border rules clearly, and to work constructively with colleagues, case teams, and vendors to find practical solutions, is as important as technical expertise.

What You'll Do

Take accountability for the key processes set out below by:

  • ensuring they are fit for purpose, consistently applied, and kept up to date with policy and regulatory changes.
  • guiding and collaborating with the shared services team who provide the administration support.
  • working closely with the CBW manager to review complex cases and escalations outside standard policy and processing requirements.

EU Posted Worker Compliance — Amsterdam & Brussels

  • Conduct assessments to determine when Posted Worker notification obligations apply and manage the notification process in line with local requirements (WagEU / LIMOSA).
  • Act as BCG's point of contact for government agency queries and requests for information relating to Posted Worker compliance in NL and BE.

Personal Remote Work requests

  • Review requests relating to LAB based employees and manage approvals in line with BCG requirements.

Netherlands & Belgium Immigration

Manage the immigration compliance process for travellers LAB linked:

  • ensuring timely and accurate application submissions for work permit and business visit visas.
  • Review casework with BCG's immigration vendor, holding them to account for quality of advice, casework management, and responsiveness in your geography.
  • Ensure vendor support remains fit for purpose; escalate quality concerns to the CBW Manager where required.
  • Track work permit initiations and ongoing work permit compliance obligations, resolving technical queries or escalating appropriately.

Cross Border Case Management

  • Support the CBW Manager with the identification of cases requiring compliance assessment and further review.
  • Review case team and individual activity risk analysis and prepare comprehensive risk summaries (covering tax and immigration guidance) for alignment with the CBW Manager for delivery to case team leadership.
  • Reporting and traveller data analysis to identify areas of risk and mitigating actions:
  • Escalating to local immigration where potential work permits are required.
  • Coordinating social security certificate requirements with payroll and finance.
  • Work with the tax team to identify and manage tax secondment coordination including stakeholder communications.
  • Act as a LAB Mobility & Immigration super user for Pinpoint, BCG's global tax assessment tool.

Mailbox & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage the LABCBW mailbox, responding to queries promptly or routing to the correct team for further support.

What You're Good At

We're looking for someone who combines solid technical knowledge with the interpersonal skills to make compliance accessible and actionable. In particular:

  • Communication — the ability to translate complex cross border rules into clear, practical guidance.
  • Problem-solving mindset — a curiosity for finding workable solutions within compliance boundaries.
  • Process ownership — comfortable taking end-to-end accountability for a process and driving continuous improvement.
  • Attention to detail — with strong quality oversight of self and others' work.
  • Stakeholder management — confident engaging with employees, case teams, vendors, and senior leaders; trusted to handle sensitive matters with discretion.
  • Adaptability — able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.

What You'll Bring

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • English language essential; Dutch and/or French preferred.
  • Relevant experience in cross border compliance, ideally within a professional services or multinational environment — covering areas such as Posted Worker obligations, immigration, tax, or social security.
  • Experience managing or overseeing a compliance process end-to-end, including quality oversight of third parties (vendors or offshore teams).
  • A track record of building trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation, with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style.
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with collaboration tools (e.g. Slack, Egnyte, Trello) preferred.

Who You'll Work With

  • LAB Mobility & Immigration team & Global Functions — Global Tax & Mobility
  • People team members across LAB — HR Ops, EAs, HR Managers, Payroll & Finance
  • BCG immigration vendor network
  • Consulting team members, business leaders and MDPs
