Do you want to help build the data-driven evolution of HR at Van Oord? In this role, you turn people data into actionable insights and actions that shape and deliver the people agenda. You go beyond traditional reporting. As the Van Oord market faces rapid changes, HR colleagues and managers seek to understand trends and patterns to help make the right decisions. What skills gaps do we have in the coming years? What is the impact of interventions on employee wellbeing? How is time spent on projects compared to planning? By improving data accountability, accessibility and adoption, you help embed data-driven decision-making across the organization.

The position

As Senior HR Reporting & Analytics Specialist, you take ownership of our HR data and reporting landscape and drive its continuous development.

Together with the team, you support the business and HR community in meeting their reporting and forecasting needs while building a clear roadmap towards a more data-driven organization.

You oversee the full reporting ecosystem, from dashboards and data definitions to data quality and governance. You collaborate closely with data owners, planning teams, HR technology and integration teams to ensure all solutions meet organizational standards and drive real impact.

You also play a key role in driving adoption through training, stakeholder engagement, and end-user feedback.

Looking ahead, your focus will be on unlocking the full potential of our data by leveraging new technologies and advancing our workforce forecasting capabilities.

You will be part of the HR Data & Reporting team within HR Operations, a group of dedicated professionals focused on delivering high-quality HR services.

The team plays a critical role in shaping employee experience, driving operational excellence, and enabling strategic decision-making across the organization.

In this position, you report to the Head of HR Operations and work closely with HR Business Partners, Centers of Expertise, and HR Technology teams.

Your impact

In this role, you will analyze HR data to identify workforce trends, risks, and opportunities, and translate these findings into clear insights and actionable recommendations for business leaders. You will develop and maintain intuitive dashboards covering areas such as headcount, turnover, diversity, and engagement, while continuously driving innovation in HR analytics through new tools, methodologies, and ways of working.

You will empower and coach stakeholders to adopt a more data-driven approach to decision-making and support strategic workforce planning by providing forward-looking insights. At the same time, you will improve data quality, consistency, and governance across HR systems, while standardizing and automating reporting processes to enhance efficiency and scalability. Finally, you will present insights in a clear, compelling, and business-oriented way that drives impact across the organization.

About you

You are an experienced and analytical professional with a strong curiosity and a passion for translating data into meaningful impact. You easily bridge the gap between data, technology, and user experience.

You are comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on, building long-term roadmaps while delivering on immediate reporting needs.

You bring:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • 3–7 years of experience in HR analytics, reporting, or similar roles
  • Strong analytical and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate data into insights
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Affinity with data innovation, digital tools, and continuous improvement
  • Experience with HR systems (e.g. Workday, SuccessFactors) is a plus
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and enable stakeholders
  • A proactive, curious mindset and the drive to challenge and improve the status quo

We offer

  • Travel allowance (€0.31 per km) and home office allowance (€2.15 per day)
  • 32 days of annual leave
  • Variable bonus scheme
  • Attractive pension plan
  • Optional collective health insurance
  • Flexible hybrid working policy, including up to 2 remote working days per week (based on full-time employment)
  • Extensive learning and development opportunities, including access to GoodHabitz
  • Employee communities such as Young Van Oord, Van Oord Women, and the staff association
  • Various social and sports events, including winter sports trips, sailing weekends, cycling events, and motorcycle tours
