Job Description

Healthcare is being transformed by advances in technology, data and AI. At Philips, we believe these innovations must always be grounded in clinical evidence, patient needs and trust. As Chief Medical Officer Communications Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how Philips communicates its clinical vision, patient-centered priorities and medical leadership across the company and outside.

Partnering directly with the Chief Medical Officer, you will influence conversations that matter—from the future of AI-enabled healthcare to patient safety, quality and innovation. This is a unique opportunity to help drive engagement, trust and alignment at scale while elevating the voice of one of the company’s most influential leaders and reinforcing Philips’ position as a trusted health technology leader.

In your role you will:

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive communications strategies for the Chief Medical Officer, ensuring all initiatives support Philips’ purpose, business priorities, culture and values.
  • Partner with the Chief Medical Officer and relevant medical, clinical, patient safety, quality and innovation leaders to keep employees informed, engaged and aligned on the clinical priorities that matter most to Philips.
  • Create messages, content, talking points, Q&A, presentations and executive narrative for the CMO across internal channels such as Viva Engage, Global Town Halls, leadership meetings, medical and scientific forums, and employee webcasts.
  • Support the CMO’s role in strategic platforms such as Future Health Index and other clinical thought-leadership moments, translating evidence and healthcare-professional insight into clear and credible internal and external-ready messaging.
  • Work in partnership with the Integrated Activation Team to ensure medical and scientific narratives are connected to enterprise priorities, including AI-enabled care, clinical workflow improvement, patient trust, safety, quality and responsible innovation.
  • Oversee consistency across communication channels, maintaining a unified and recognizable Philips tone of voice while preserving the precision and credibility required for clinical and scientific topics.
  • Drive planning and execution of integrated communications strategies that connect global campaigns, CMO priorities and medical affairs topics, ensuring they reach and engage the right internal and leadership audiences.
  • Manage content calendars, editorial schedules and distribution approaches in line with Communications & Brand governance, optimizing reach, engagement and impact while reducing duplication and low-value activity.
  • Interact regularly with executives and major stakeholders, using strong influencing, judgment and cross-functional alignment skills on complex clinical, reputational and business matters.
  • Work on complex issues where the analysis of situations, data or stakeholder positions requires in-depth knowledge of Philips, healthcare systems, clinical workflows and responsible innovation.
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of employee and executive communications, using insights to drive continuous improvement in clarity, engagement and impact.

You're the right fit if you have:

  • 8+ years of proven experience in internal and/or external communications combined with business partnering at a very senior, C-suite level within a global international organization, preferably in healthcare, medtech, clinical affairs or technology domains or in another regulated industry.
  • An excitement for working at the forefront of the AI transformation of Communications, both in how content is produced and how it is consumed, and comfort with creating and managing AI-enabled communication workflows.
  • Master’s Degree in Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, Brand Management, Health Policy, Medical Affairs, Public Health or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare systems, clinical stakeholders, patient-centered care, medical/scientific evidence and the role of technology and AI in improving care delivery is a strong asset.
  • Proven ability to turn complex medical, scientific and technology topics into clear executive messages without losing accuracy, nuance or stakeholder trust.
  • Deep ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, acting as a subject matter expert and guiding leaders through change, sensitive topics and ambiguity.
  • Strategic mindset combined with hands-on execution; you are flexible and adaptable to changing realities and can move quickly from counsel to content delivery.
  • Excellent judgment on reputation, regulatory, patient-safety and quality sensitivities, with the discipline to involve the right experts before messages are finalized.
  • Positive energy and genuine enjoyment of the work, contributing to team atmosphere and helping colleagues focus on high-impact priorities.
  • Ability to support, coach and develop teams and partners, fostering consistency, common goals and clear ways of working across business partnering, editorial governance and integrated activation.
