The Data Privacy Delivery Manager is responsible for implementing data privacy projects and initiatives to support JTI's global data privacy compliance efforts as part of the data privacy program. This role reports to the Data Privacy Delivery Director and works closely with the Group Data Protection Director to implement, oversee, and monitor various JTI privacy projects, including drafting and updating policies, developing training for business teams, drafting and supporting implementation of relevant standards and guidelines for privacy notices, consent statements, data retention, and other privacy compliance controls, as well as providing central support and guidance to markets and functions on data privacy matters.

In this role you will:

  • Deliver privacy projects and initiatives in line with the privacy program and timetable.
  • Implement privacy controls and support privacy compliance governance.
  • Ensure timely delivery to adequately mitigate privacy risks.
  • Liaise regularly and consistently with business teams, IT, and the verticalized Legal function, ensuring that privacy projects are seamlessly integrated with business processes and the technological landscape.
  • Partner closely with data privacy operations managers and data privacy champions to drive privacy requirements.
  • Scope, plan, and implement privacy initiatives under the privacy program umbrella and ensure that these are monitored and reported in a clear and efficient manner to support governance requirements.
  • Drive smooth deployment with stakeholders when implementing new tools, processes, and privacy controls.
  • Collaborate closely with the privacy operations team, with support from data privacy operations managers, to fully document and formalize these efforts.
  • Create and embed a data privacy culture and mindset by supporting the upskilling of data privacy champions and training structural data controllers to ensure that data protection is fully understood across the business.
  • Ensure that Data Privacy solutions and processes seamlessly integrate within existing developments, for instance digital ecosystems, through teamwork and alignment with other key stakeholders, for example in the areas of consent management and cookie compliance.
  • Establish a good working relationship and collaborate efficiently with the dedicated IT support function for the Data Privacy Office.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing about data privacy and risks within the Legal community, leveraging the Legal talent pool where necessary.
  • Develop solid and mutually beneficial relationships with Data Privacy Champions throughout the company.

Requirements

  • University Degree with proven experience in Law, Data Protection or Information Technology, or demonstrable similar relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience within a legal or compliance role advising on privacy and data protection.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing projects, preferably in privacy programs.
  • Fluent oral and written English; other language skills are a plus.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and data protection regulations; privacy certifications are a plus.
  • Insight and excellent knowledge of business and related processes in areas such as Digital & IT, Human Resources (P&C), Legal, Finance, and Marketing & Sales.
  • Familiarity with the OneTrust suite of privacy products is a plus.
  • Capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Accountable and responsible for achieving objectives, including influencing others outside direct-reporting lines.
