Description

The Commercial Air Network Specialist applies specialist knowledge to support the planning, coordination, control, and continuous improvement of commercial air network operations. The role is responsible for ensuring the effective execution of network processes, maintaining compliance with operational and regulatory requirements, and driving initiatives that enhance network performance, service quality, and operational efficiency.

Working across Air Operations, Network Control, Network Support, Ramp Operations, and Airline Coordination functions, the incumbent collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to support the achievement of divisional and corporate objectives.

What you will be doing:

As a Commercial Air Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial air network operations. You will monitor network performance, analyze operational data, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant movement of shipments across the air network. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining service reliability and supporting FedEx's operational commitments to customers.

You will be responsible for coordinating and reviewing operational processes, identifying exceptions or performance variances, and investigating issues that may impact network performance. Using your analytical skills and operational expertise, you will recommend and implement corrective actions, ensuring processes are executed accurately and in accordance with established standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

A significant aspect of the role involves driving continuous improvement. You will participate in or lead projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, improving customer service, reducing risk, and optimizing network performance. Working closely with teams across Network Control, Ramp Operations, Planning, Airline Partners, and other business functions, you will help design and implement process improvements, operational controls, and system enhancements.

You will also be responsible for producing and analyzing operational reports, monitoring key performance indicators, and providing insights and recommendations to management. Through effective stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration, you will support decision-making, align priorities across teams, and contribute to the successful delivery of business objectives.

As you develop within the role, you may take on increasingly complex responsibilities, provide guidance and training to colleagues, act as a subject matter expert within your area, and lead initiatives that have a broader operational or geographical impact across the network.
