About the role:
FedEx Europe is seeking an experienced Internal Communications leader to ensure its 46,000+ team members are clearly informed, aligned with priorities, and understand their role in delivering strategic objectives.
This role is designed for a seasoned professional with 10+ years of experience in complex, fast-paced, and multinational environments, and a proven track record of leading through transformation. You will operate confidently at senior executive and board level, bring strong people leadership capabilities, and have experience building, leading, and developing high-performing teams. You will leverage Internal Communications as a strategic lever to connect employees at all levels, from frontline and operational teams to senior leadership.
In this role, you will lead both the strategy and execution of internal communications, while guiding a team of 8 professionals across Europe. You will play a critical role in ensuring employees across functions and geographies are informed, aligned, and connected to purpose, mission, and strategic direction, while enabling leaders to communicate with clarity, consistency, and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy aligned with FedEx Europe’s business priorities and transformation agenda.
- Position Internal Communications as a strategic partner that drives alignment, engagement, and organizational performance.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and executives on messaging, narrative development, and communication approach.
- Partner with senior leaders to shape clear, authentic messaging for business updates, transformation initiatives, and key moments.
- Develop compelling narratives and materials for leadership communications, including town halls, leadership forums, and employee engagement moments.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Internal Communications team of 8 professionals across Europe.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture, with clear priorities and strong execution standards.
- Ensure communications effectively reach diverse audiences, including frontline and operational employees.
- Translate complex business and operational topics into clear, engaging, and accessible communications that resonate with team members at all levels.
- Drive impactful initiatives that strengthen understanding, reinforce culture, and enhance employee engagement.
- Oversee and continuously optimize internal communication channels and platforms to maximize reach, effectiveness, and user experience.
- Ensure consistency in tone, messaging, and brand across all internal communications.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across European markets to deliver integrated and aligned communications.
- Define and track success metrics, using data and employee insights to continuously improve communication effectiveness.
- Translate insights into actionable recommendations to strengthen impact and engagement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in internal or corporate communications within a large, fast-paced, international organization, including proven experience supporting transformation and change.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams in a complex, matrixed environment.
- Exceptional English verbal and written communication, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to clearly articulate communication strategies and plans and translate complex business topics into compelling, accessible narratives.
- Strong experience advising and influencing senior stakeholders, including executive and leadership communications.
- Outstanding presentation and facilitation skills, with the executive presence to confidently deliver high-impact briefings and pitch strategic communication plans to senior leadership.
- Proven track record in delivering impactful change communications and driving engagement during transformation programs.
- Strong understanding of digital communication channels and platforms and how to optimize their impact.
- Excellent project and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to prioritize and deliver in a dynamic environment.
- Data-driven mindset, with experience using insights and metrics to continuously improve communication effectiveness.
- High cultural awareness, with experience working across diverse, international teams and geographies.
Preferred:
- Experience in logistics, transportation, or other operationally intensive environments.
- Strong understanding of frontline workforce communications.
- Experience working within a matrixed, global organization.
