SeQso develops and builds sorting and sowing machines for seed breeders in Europe, Asia, and America. As part of Demcon, SeQso has all the expertise it needs to make its machines more precise, faster, and smarter. We develop new solutions for further automation in seed breeding within our own product portfolio. In this way, we contribute to food security, which is under pressure worldwide due to population growth and climate change.

What are you going to do?

As an Application Engineer, you play a key role in translating customer requirements into concrete technological solutions. You work at the interface between the customer, sales and engineering: you understand the customer’s needs, contribute ideas on the correct application of our systems and help to translate technical possibilities into valuable solutions.

In this role, you will also have the opportunity to further develop your commercial acumen. You will build customer relationships, identify new opportunities and gradually progress towards a role with greater responsibility in the field of business development.

In this role, you will be responsible for the entire process: from the customer’s enquiry to a feasible and compelling proposal. You will combine technical expertise with customer focus and commercial curiosity.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Understanding client needs and translating these into technical concepts and solutions.
• Drafting and developing well-founded quotations, in close collaboration with engineering teams.
• Conducting sorting and sowing trials to support clients in building a solid business case for the purchase of SeQso systems.
• Visiting existing customers and supporting them in the optimal deployment and further development of applications.
• Identifying and developing new opportunities within both existing and new accounts.
• Acting as a technical sparring partner for customers and internal teams.
• Representing SeQso at international conferences and events.

What do you bring to the table?

For this role, we are looking for someone who combines technical expertise with an interest in customer engagement, sales and business development. You don’t need to be an experienced business developer yet, but you should be keen to develop in that direction.

You bring:

• A completed technical degree at higher national or university level, for example in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, computer science, data science, bioinformatics, biosystems engineering or physics.
• An affinity with customer processes and the ability to analyse needs accurately and translate them into practical solutions.
• Commercial acumen and an interest in sales and business development.
• Knowledge of the agricultural sector; experience in the seed industry is an advantage.
