AI Engineer

As an AI Engineer, you play a key role in translating business challenges into scalable and reliable AI-driven solutions. You combine strong technical expertise with business understanding to design, develop, and optimize AI applications that create tangible value for the organization. Working closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams, you drive innovation while ensuring high-quality, maintainable, and future-proof solutions.

As an AI Engineer at Boels, you will work in three-week sprints as part of a multidisciplinary Scrum team. You will collaborate closely with a Product Owner, two business analysts, and two data scientists to design, build, and continuously improve AI-driven solutions.

You will be responsible for:

• Design and implement AI solutions, including AI agents, chatbots, RAG pipelines, and multi-agent systems that support business processes and decision-making.
• Translate business requirements into robust solution designs and provide technical guidance on architecture, technology selection, and strategic AI investments.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines, knowledge retrieval mechanisms, and contextual data solutions to ensure accurate and reliable AI performance.
• Evaluate, test, monitor, and optimize AI models and applications for quality, reliability, scalability, cost efficiency, and performance.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify valuable AI use cases, validate concepts through experimentation, and deliver solutions in Agile DevOps teams.
• Share AI expertise by creating technical documentation, mentoring team members, and promoting AI knowledge and best practices across the organization.

What do you bring

• A Bachelor or Master in Data science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or other related field;
• 3-5 years relevant working experience in AI or data science solutions;
• Knowledge of programming (e.g. Python, R, SQL);
• Experience in using AI frameworks, such as LangChain;
• High analytical skills and high conceptual thinking capabilities;
• Communication skills and working pro-actively;
• You are fluent in English both in writing and speaking.
