At Versuni, the Product Director Healthy Cooking owns the category strategy and financial results for the Healthy Cooking product category, including turnover, margin%, and market share. This role manages the product portfolio and product project portfolio to achieve results in line with category expectations, and leads the end-to-end product lifecycle from value proposition to phase-out. The position is also accountable for aligning product platforms with subcategory strategy, managing a team of Product Managers and Product Project Managers, and ensuring effective collaboration across I&D, Marketing, Design, Operations, Finance, and Markets.

About the role

The Product Director Healthy Cooking owns the category strategy and the financial results of the Healthy Cooking product category. He/she manages the product portfolio and the product project portfolio in scope to achieve financial results in line with category expectations. The role is responsible for leading the end-to-end product lifecycle from value proposition to phase-out within a sub-category, ensuring relevant capabilities are brought together throughout the innovation process and that projects are delivered on-time, in-full, within cost, and at quality. He/she is accountable for aligning the product platforms portfolio with the subcategory strategy and for managing a team of Product Managers and Product Project Managers while ensuring effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

The impact you’ll make

The Product Director defines the category vision and strategy and translates this into portfolio strategy, including where new NPIs fit and how the roadmap is driven across NPI, animations, extensions, and globalization. This includes setting innovation strategy, identifying need spaces, creating commercial briefs towards R&D, and defining global price positioning guidelines.

The role owns the end-to-end product lifecycle from value proposition creation to phase-out, including understanding consumer pain points and translating these into product specifications and value propositions, ensuring strong product design, and securing product IP.

The role is accountable for business cases, product cost, and overall performance, including expected revenues, and ensures delivery on-time, in-full, within cost and quality through strong cross-functional collaboration with I&D, Finance, Operations and Markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the sub-category strategy, products portfolio and product projects portfolio results, including portfolio complexity reduction, turnover, and margin%
  • Owns results for NPI, delivered on-time, in-full, within cost and on quality
  • Develop and present business cases, and track and present performance, including sales, R&R, and quality
  • Drives the performance of the product and the expected revenues
  • Manages cooperation of Product Managers and Product Project Leads to ensure technical development is on track and aligned with proposition and consumer needs
  • Partners with Operations to ensure manufacturability within time and cost parameters
  • Drives category performance presentation, including share gain/loss, phase-in phase-out impact, and category PVMC outcomes
  • Responsible for claims including substantiation, trademarks, and IPs

KPIs

  • Subcategory revenue growth, IGM% improvements and market share gains
  • Product portfolio management at subcategory level: turnover, growth, margin%
  • Project portfolio management from end-to-end until +6 months post launch: project timeline, cost and quality
  • NPI and product development within target cost, quality and timelines
  • Innovation success: number of sub-category innovations and NPI post-launch performance, such as incremental penetration, market share, profitability, consumer satisfaction, and R&R/RR%
  • Complexity reduction through SKU management versus target
  • DFX contribution: number of initiatives launched and savings
  • Platforming strategy formulated and aligned with the category vision

The skills and knowledge you’ll bring

  • 10+ years of experience in product management or related fields, preferably in household durables or consumer goods
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and a track record of delivering projects on-time, within budget, and at quality
  • Strong understanding of market research and consumer insights with application to product development
  • Preferably an advanced degree in Business, Marketing, or Product Development
  • Strong analytical and communication skills for evaluating value proposition strength, business cases and managing stakeholders
