The Global HSE Lead is responsible for supporting the strategic development of divisional Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) activities for the Poultry division. This role ensures alignment with the organization’s global HSE policy by driving its design, implementation, and continuous improvement across the division.

In collaboration with the HSE Excellence Team, the Global HSE Lead plays a critical role in cultivating a safety-oriented culture by ensuring compliance, addressing HSE deficiencies, and supporting business units in identifying and resolving safety challenges. This position requires exceptional leadership and collaboration skills to influence all levels of the organization and drive innovative solutions to HSE challenges.

A key responsibility of the role includes supporting and managing written HSE business programs to embed continuous improvement and ensure excellence. Additionally, the Global HSE Lead will lead efforts to monitor safety performance, provide training and development, and champion a proactive approach to health, safety, and environmental practices within the Poultry division.

  • Safety Program Leadership: Implement and oversee safety programs that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Strategic Alignment: Ensure division and regional safety practices are consistent with corporate safety strategies and objectives.
  • Performance Monitoring: Analyze safety metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, measure progress, and recommend improvements.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the go-to expert for safety standards, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Training and Development: Design and deliver training programs to empower employees and leaders with the knowledge and skills needed to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Incident Management: Support root cause analysis, investigations, and corrective action plans for safety incidents and near-misses.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance safety processes, tools, and technologies to minimize risks and improve efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with leadership, site managers, and safety teams to foster a culture of safety excellence.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about local and regional safety regulations to ensure organizational compliance.

Experience and education

Education, knowledge, and experience

  • Relevant safety qualifications, such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, HVK or equivalent certification.
  • 5+ years of experience in safety management or a related role, with a strong focus on program development and execution.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, HVK or similar are highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety standards, compliance requirements (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001), and industry best practices.
  • Experience in implementing safety management systems such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive actionable insights.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple levels of an organization, including senior leaders and front-line staff.
