Elsevier is looking for a UX Designer II to help shape LeapSpace, an AI-assisted research workspace designed to transform how researchers interact with information and generate insights.
Are you a UX designer who combines strong UX thinking with solid visual design skills, excited to work on AI-powered experiences at scale?
Do you thrive in fast-moving environments and enjoy working closely with product, engineering, and design in a squad setup?
Elsevier’s Academic & Government (A&G) group helps researchers and institutions discover, analyse, and share knowledge to advance human progress.
LeapSpace is our AI-assisted research workspace, designed to transform how researchers interact with information and generate insights. Following its launch, we are scaling adoption and continuously improving the experience based on real-world usage.
You’ll be part of a cross-functional squad working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where experimentation and user feedback drive decisions.
As a UX Designer II, you play a key role in shaping intuitive, high-quality user experiences within LeapSpace.
You bring strong interaction and interface design skills, with a clear eye for visual quality and detail. You’re comfortable moving quickly from concept to execution, working closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers to deliver meaningful solutions.
You also collaborate closely with other designers across squads to ensure a consistent and cohesive experience across the product. This requires strong alignment on quality, patterns, and design principles.
The design team is a close, collaborative group where open and respectful communication is key. Designers actively share work, give and receive feedback, and support each other in improving outcomes. We care deeply about craft, but leave ego at the door. Our goal is to create a product experience that feels cohesive, intentional, and thoughtfully designed end-to-end.
You thrive in a fast, experimental environment and enjoy vibe coding to quickly visualise ideas, prototyping, and refining them in close collaboration with engineers. You’re curious, ask thoughtful questions, and focus on achieving the best outcomes together with your team.
We promote a healthy work/life balance across the organisation. We offer an appealing working prospect for our people. With numerous wellbeing initiatives, shared parental leave, study assistance and sabbaticals, we will help you meet your immediate responsibilities and your long-term goals.
Working flexible hours — flexing the times when you work in the day to help you fit everything in and work when you are the most productive.
We know that your well-being and happiness are key to a long and successful career. These are some of the benefits we are delighted to offer:
Working in technology at Elsevier means your work has real impact. As part of the LeapSpace team, you will help shape AI-powered experiences that change how research is done globally.
