Frontend Development Internship

Within the Unify Framework Team, you’ll work on shared frontend solutions that form the foundation of several Nedap products. Think of reusable components, consistent user interfaces, and a platform that helps teams build faster and more reliably.

This assignment gives you the freedom to explore your interests while making an impact at scale.

What are you going to do?

• Develop and improve reusable UI components for the component library.
• Ensure consistency, accessibility, and scalability across interfaces by supporting the design system.
• Explore theming to enable components to be used in different visual styles, such as dark mode or product-specific themes.
• Investigate how other teams can safely add their own components to improve extensibility.
• Contribute to modular frontend solutions within larger applications through micro-frontends.
• Optimize build, test, and release processes (CI/CD) to enhance developer experience.
• Help transition to new technologies and architectures by supporting migrations.

Your team

You’ll be part of the Unify Framework Team: a team that builds the technical foundation used by multiple product teams. We collaborate closely across Nedap, which means your work has a broad impact on how frontend development is done.

The team has an open and collaborative culture. We take time to think through decisions and continuously learn from each other. You’ll have the space to work independently, while always having support when needed.

Required skills

We’re looking for a bachelor-level (HBO) student who is curious about how frontend technology works at scale and wants to go beyond building individual features.

• Interest in frontend development or platform engineering.
• Curiosity about how software is built, maintained, and used across teams.
• Basic knowledge of JavaScript (experience without frameworks is a plus).
• Interest in modern frontend technologies such as web components (e.g. Lit) or Vue.js.
• Affinity with CI/CD (e.g. GitHub Actions) is a plus.
• Willingness to quickly learn and adopt new concepts.
