As a Reactive Power Analysis intern in Arnhem, you work on a technical challenge within the energy transition. You analyze real grid data and contribute to a reliable energy grid. You do impactful research and develop your professional skills.

The energy transition is impossible without you as an intern

During this graduation internship, you investigate the origin and growth of capacitive reactive power flows in the electricity grid. You analyze measurement data, identify trends, and translate them into clear insights.

As a Reactive Power Analysis intern, you contribute by working on:

  • Analyzing reactive power flows in the low-voltage grid.
  • Investigating inductive and capacitive behavior of low-voltage transformers.
  • Identifying trends in reactive power across multiple years.
  • Extending analyses to the medium-voltage grid and specific customer groups.
  • Developing yourself and getting to know the business world.

You make the grid more complete at Alliander

At Alliander, you mainly work within System Operations Change, a department focused on improving and preparing the energy system of the future.

The team consists of specialists with knowledge of electricity grids, data, and energy systems. You work closely with colleagues from other teams, such as GAAS and the Reactive Power Project Team. The atmosphere is professional and open. Collaboration, knowledge sharing, and good supervision during your graduation assignment are central.

You make the grid more energetic

Getting to know the business world while working on your personal development. We are happy to support you with that. You learn from us, and we learn from you. Especially if you also bring:

  • A WO (research university) degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field.
  • Experience with power system analysis and electricity grids.
  • Experience with data analysis and modeling.
  • Strong Python skills for data analysis and processing.
  • For this internship, it is required that you are living in the Netherlands and have a good command of the English language.

Better arranged for you
