The Meta Operations & Commercial Specialist is responsible for the daily execution of meta-search partnerships and the commercial analysis that drives their growth. Serving as a key partner-owner, this role combines "feet-on-the-ground" operational management with tactical data insights to optimize Travix’s volume and profitability across platforms like Skyscanner, Kayak, Google Flights and others.

Job Purpose

The Meta Operations & Commercial Specialist is responsible for the daily execution of meta-search partnerships and the commercial analysis that drives their growth. Serving as a key partner-owner, this role combines "feet-on-the-ground" operational management with tactical data insights to optimize Travix’s volume and profitability across platforms like Skyscanner, Kayak, Google Flights and others.

Key Responsibilities

Partner Management & Operational Execution

  • First-Line Partner Contact: Serve as the primary operational partner-owner, documenting and actioning all calls and daily requirements from meta-search partners.
  • Tactical Negotiation Support: Support the Commercial Manager in (re)negotiations by providing regional and country-specific performance analyses.
  • Operational Stability: Act as the liaison with TPM and pricing to perform performance analysis and feed health checks, resolve price inaccuracies, and ensure a "best-in-class" partnership experience.
  • Roadmap Influence: Translate daily operational hurdles and partner feedback into tactical insights that fuel both internal and external product roadmaps.

Commercial Analysis & Performance Steering

  • KPI Tracking & Reporting: Manage the set KPIs; monitoring volume, margin, CVR, and Partner Quality Scores.
  • Daily/Weekly Analysis: Analyze performance trends per market to find areas for improvement and report findings to the meta organization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Pricing, Product and FP&A teams to drive accurate revenue and margin forecasting.

Strategic Insights: Build viable strategies to expand the commercial footprint and provide data-driven insights for monthly business reviews.

Job Requirements

  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience in a commercially oriented analyst or operational role, ideally within the OTA, airline, or travel industry.
  • Analytical Rigor: Superior analytical skills with a proven record of leveraging data to drive internal and external change.
  • Communication & Presence: Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to guide and influence decision-making among senior stakeholders and partners.
  • Technical Literacy: Solid understanding of technical integrations (feeds/APIs) and proficiency in analytics tools like Looker or Tableau.
  • Mindset: A commercially oriented self-starter who "does not stop until they get to the goal," possessing the ability to challenge the status quo.

Cultural Adaptability: Ability to work effectively across different cultures and levels of the organization in a rapidly changing environment.

Role Impact

By combining a "tight administration" with commercial curiosity, this role ensures that Travix’s meta partnerships are not only technically stable but also commercially optimized. You provide the data-driven "why" behind the operational "how," allowing the leadership team to steer the long-term vision with confidence.

A Day in the Life

To give you a clear picture of how this role bridges the gap between technical operations and commercial strategy, here is a typical "Day in the Life" for a Meta Operations & Commercial Specialist.

  • 09:00 – The "Health Check" & Monitoring: You open your Looker dashboard. You notice that Skyscanner DE volume has dropped 15% overnight. You quickly check the API logs and realize a specific fare type is being filtered out due to a technical mapping error.
  • 10:00 – Operational Fix (The "TPM" Bridge): You hop on a quick Slack call with the relevant TPM manager. You share the specific errors you found and agree on a fix. You then send a proactive note to your contact at Skyscanner to let them know a feed glitch has been identified and is being resolved.
  • 11:00 – Commercial Performance Analysis: You shift from "fixing" to "optimizing." You analyze the Partner Quality Score for Skyscanner. You notice the "Price Accuracy" score has dipped in the UK. You dig into the data to see if it’s a specific airline causing the discrepancy.
  • 12:30 – Lunch / Social Interaction: Informal catch-up with the Pricing team in the canteen—keeping internal relationships warm so you can move faster when discussing price adjustments for commercial impact.
  • 13:30 – Partner-Facing Monthly Sync: You lead a video call with Kayak’s Account Manager. Instead of just talking about tech, you present a slide showing how a new "Ancillary Bundle" (Baggage + Seat) has improved CVR by 2% in the US market. You use your soft skills to negotiate for a better placement in their "Great Value" sort.
  • 15:00 – Commercial Manager Support: The Commercial Manager is preparing for a contract renegotiation with Jetcost. You provide a "Market Deep Dive" report showing that while volume is up, margin per booking is being squeezed by high minimum CPCs in specific regions.
  • 16:00 – Administration and Follow-up: You spend an hour updating commission rates in the internal database for the upcoming month and documenting takeaways from the Kayak call for the Product team.
  • 17:00 – Strategic Reflection & Reporting: You draft the Weekly Meta Highlights email for the leadership team, highlighting the Skyscanner fix and the Kayak performance win.
