Are you passionate about taking on complex IT challenges and eager to gain hands-on experience with business operations? If you aspire to become an IT professional in a leading organization, the Rabobank Business & IT Traineeship is the perfect opportunity to explore your possibilities within Business and IT.

This traineeship is a good match for you if you know you like the field of Business and IT, but do not yet know which exact role suits you best. Within these 18 months, you will have the chance to explore working in IT and discover what kind of future IT role fits you best.

You & your future

In just 18 months, as part of the Business & IT track, you will learn the fine points of Rabobank’s IT domain. You will have the opportunity to work at two to four different departments. The program is designed to give you a broad view of the IT organisation by offering rotations across departments, allowing you to shape your own future.

In addition to day-to-day work, trainees work on a side project and join Rabobank’s trainee network in a personal development journey. A buddy system helps you find your way around the bank and join social events. You will also receive coaching from a talent manager.

After completing the 18-month program, you will have a strong foundation to further develop yourself within the bank. It is up to you to take initiative and pursue a permanent position, either at one of your rotation placements or elsewhere in the organization.

Join our dynamic team and expand your horizons through rotational opportunities. While your core responsibilities and skills remain consistent, you will be challenged to apply them in new ways within different organisational contexts. The learning objectives focus on agility, self-reflection, networking, complex stakeholdermanagement, balanced leadership and strategic thinking.

During the rotations, you will gain exposure to multiple business domains, move to different teams and explore new areas. This is your chance to grow both personally and professionally while making valuable connections along the way.

You will learn as much as you can about several areas of Rabobank and use that knowledge within the IT domain where these paths cross to create value for Rabobank, our customers and society as a whole. You contribute to creating new systems or improving existing systems and processes.

Examples

  • As a trainee, you know how to find the required data, interpret it correctly, analyse it thoroughly and determine the best possible approach to create value by making functional designs and helping IT engineers develop a robust and well-performing data solution.
  • You act as a linking pin between different stakeholders on the business side, IT side and within management. You are responsible for managing multiple workstreams and projects to best utilize team capacity and make sure everyone is aligned. With your knowledge of technical languages, you can understand and support colleagues.
  • A specific task could be supporting the analysis of market trends and preparing reports for senior management, including gathering data, conducting basic analyses and presenting findings clearly and concisely.

After the traineeship

After successfully finishing the traineeship, you could continue in junior roles such as Business Manager, Business Analyst, Tech Lead or Data Scientist.

Your development as a Trainee

From the start in October, you will develop your talents during the first 18 months. During this period, training sessions focus mainly on personal development and additionally on professional development, mostly delivered by experienced professional trainers.

Given the emphasis on personal development within this role, we are seeking individuals who are committed to growing and learning continuously. Through the training sessions, you will have the opportunity to create the best version of yourself.

You will build your network, gain valuable experience, and develop soft, technical and leadership skills that will be useful throughout your career. You will also be challenged with various situations and learnings on the job, alongside professional and tailored guidance to help you start at Rabobank.

  • A bachelor or master degree, or an equivalent working/thinking level
  • Affinity and/or experience in working in an IT environment
