Technology, data, and AI are becoming increasingly important in Rituals' journey. As the company moves towards a Product Operating Model, it is creating an organization with more speed, ownership, and business impact. To help lead this transformation, Rituals is looking for a Director of Engineering.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the engineering foundation of Rituals and help build a more connected, scalable, and future-ready retail technology organization.

YOUR PURPOSE:

As Director of Engineering, you will lead the development of a modern, high-performing engineering organization across Rituals. You will strengthen engineering capability, accelerate delivery, simplify the technology landscape, and help embed data and AI as core enablers across the business.

You will report to the Executive Director Tech & Data and work closely with the Director of Product, with shared accountability for delivering Rituals’ technology and product roadmap. In this role, you will connect teams across Tech & Data, Digital, and Business, helping create the conditions for product teams to deliver desired outcomes at scale.

What you’ll do:

You will play a leading role in shaping how engineering creates value at Rituals. Your responsibilities will include:

• Building and scaling a strong engineering organization across application, platform, data, and AI capabilities
• Ensuring engineering delivery is aligned to business priorities and focused on measurable outcomes
• Strengthening internal capability, reducing unnecessary complexity, and creating clear ownership within teams
• Driving engineering excellence through modern practices in CI/CD, quality, observability, and security by design
• Accelerating delivery speed and improving time-to-value
• Leading the simplification and modernization of the technology landscape
• Enabling data and AI capabilities, including the adoption of platforms such as RitualsGPT
• Supporting autonomous, cross-functional product teams within the Product Operating Model
• Building strong alignment across Tech, Digital, and Business domains

• Strong leadership experience in engineering, technology, or platform organizations
• A proven track record in building and scaling high-performing teams
• Experience in product-led environments or Product Operating Model transformations
• Strong understanding of modern engineering practices and organizational design
• Experience with data and AI-enabled capabilities as part of a broader technology strategy
• The ability to simplify complex technology landscapes and drive modernization
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across functions
