Shape the future of personalized, intelligent analytics at bol.

How do you make our customers happy?

All our colleagues want to use data to improve the quality of their decisions to positively impact our customers’ lives and partners’ businesses. We are building a self-service data architecture that empowers teams to satisfy their data needs autonomously — and now we are taking the next step: making our Data Platform intelligently proactive, delivering personalized insights to the people who need them, when they need them.

In this context, the Data, Analytics & AI department is evolving bol’s Data Platform from infrastructure into an intelligent analytics layer. We serve the entire bol organization, where every department or domain has its own challenge. How do you move beyond dashboards toward agentic analytics, systems that surface relevant insights, answer questions conversationally, and act on behalf of users? How do you do that in a decentralized setup, with enthusiastic data engineers and analysts who want state-of-the-art tools but also have to comply with rules & regulations? How do we get qualitative insights on the effectiveness of our product teams to decision makers, without them having to go looking?

Can you help us achieve this goal?

The biggest challenge

Our Data department is taking the Data Platform to the next level. A huge challenge because we serve the entire organization, and every department presents unique data challenges.

How can we build an analytics experience that feels personal — where insights find the user, not the other way around?

How can we empower enthusiastic analysts who want to push agentic and conversational tools to their full potential while still complying with all applicable rules and regulations?

How can we inspire engineers to make data easily accessible, semantically rich, and ready for intelligent consumption?

And what options should we explore to monetize our data and intelligence capabilities internally and externally?

This is what you do in this role

In this role, you leverage your knowledge and enthusiasm to turn bol’s data into personalized intelligence for customers, partners, and colleagues. That calls for hands-on Product Management experience, preferably with data processing skills and a solid understanding of data architectures, GDPR, and data protection.

The Data Platform group consists of 2 Product Managers, 1 Product Analyst, and 13 Engineers — and is likely to grow. It is up to you to set them up for ongoing success in a fluid environment, because as our platform evolves toward intelligent, agentic experiences, so does the department.

As Group Product Manager, you help shape strategy with customer-centric evidence, get stakeholders behind your vision, and empower colleagues to execute plans with a customer-obsessed mindset. In short, together with the Product Managers in your team, you initiate a new era where data doesn’t just inform — it acts.

  • Collaborate closely with product managers to define a vision, strategy, and roadmap for the product group, consistent with the domain vision and guaranteed to yield measurable progress.
  • Build and nurture high-performing, healthy product teams that deliver substantial value.
  • Help establish product management processes, including hypothesis creation, assumption mapping, design tests, running tests, leading ideation cycles, and executing go-to-market strategies.
  • Empower the teams to succeed by solving issues such as dependencies and cross-domain and/or cross-department alignments.
  • Coach Product Managers on the job and help them hone their skills, for example, related to discovery and delivery.
  • Contribute to a range of bol initiatives to boost Product Management craft, such as standardizing job interviews, mentoring, et cetera.

Why you can make a difference

Because you bring Product Management experience to the table, preferably in the field of data, and demonstrably lead by example. You are energized by the shift from static reporting to intelligent, agentic analytics — and you love coaching Product Managers on the job, considering their success your own.

A record in data (e.g., analytics, data science, data engineering, or BI) is not a must-have but would help you get up to speed with our environment and customers faster.

3 reasons why this is (not) for you

For you if:

  • The right mix You combine 8+ years of Product Management with a passion for data and a curiosity for AI-driven analytics.
  • Not easily scared A complex tool stack, tons of data, agentic systems, and potentially over 3,000 customers? Bring it on!
  • Pied Piper You are the type of leader that people love to follow.

Not for you if:

  • Know-it-all You can solve any problem without ever talking to customers, and 99% of all problems without even considering their perspective.
  • Show me the timeline! You need to know exactly what topics you will work on six months in advance.
  • Perfectionist planner You’d rather spend weeks polishing slides and roadmaps than launching, learning, and improving in the real world.

This is where you will work

In this role, you will join the Data Platform Product group, which is part of the Data Technologies Product Area. The group comprises three Product Teams: Data Analytics Platform, Data Engineering Platform, and External Data Platform. This is a highly multicultural environment where team members from all over the world collaborate and share ideas.
