IP Scientist

Vegetable Division Intellectual Property The Vegetable Division of Bayer is looking for an Intellectual Property Scientist to join their IP Science group.

TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with R&D stakeholders to identify innovations and facilitate IP Law review, evaluation, and patent application filings for IP protection;
• Collaborate with members of the Intellectual Property (IP) Law team and internal stakeholders in planning, coordination, implementation, and process improvement of workflows for IP evaluation, tracking, and protection;
• Assemble, maintain and analyze business and technical information;
• Coordinate and perform data searches and analysis;
• Demonstrate problem solving for process optimization and system development;
• Assist with education efforts for Vegetable Division IP protection and freedom-to-operate (FTO) best practices.

WHO YOU ARE

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree with 2+ years’ relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years’ relevant experience in relevant scientific field (e.g. biological science or engineering)
• Strong English written and oral communication
• Interpersonal and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications
• Other database knowledge/navigation a plus
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively and interface effectively at all levels of the organization
• Demonstrated project management and multi-tasking ability
• Attention to detail
