Engineering Manager I

Join TomTom as an Engineering Manager I in the PE Navigation team within Product Engineering.

What you'll do

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, providing guidance, support, and coaching to foster professional growth and development.
• Manage the full software development lifecycle, from planning and design through implementation, testing, and deployment, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
• Identify risks and dependencies early in the development process and work proactively to mitigate them, ensuring smooth project execution and on-time delivery.
• Work closely with other engineers to define technical strategies, standards, and best practices for your team.
• Collaborate effectively with product managers, software engineers, engineering managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, prioritize tasks, and deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team, promoting innovation, efficiency, and excellence in software development practices.

What you'll bring

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with at least 1 year in a management role.
• Strong technical background in software engineering, with expertise in at least one high-level programming language such as Kotlin, Swift, C++, Java, or Python.
• Proven track record of successfully leading software development teams and delivering projects on schedule.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on driving results and continuous improvement.
