This is how you will reinvent food retail.

• Build microservices in Kotlin for our Transport Planning team
• Develop technical solutions in line with our systems and business process architecture
• Develop proofs of concept, write code, implement and execute automated testing, ensure security and code quality, establish best practices, and conduct functional testing

Your new team and office.
As a Junior Backend Engineer, you will join the AH Transport Planning team. The AH Transport Planning product is responsible of planning and managing more than 3000 daily trips for Albert Heijn stores and warehouses. Our mission is to provide the best shopping experience to our customers, offering high service levels and fresh products at an affordable price.

You will be supported by a team, allowing you to focus on building code. You will start with the development of mature systems with continuous change demand. We are taking future-changing steps to innovate our architecture and become more responsive toward market changes and opportunities.

Considering the vast scale we operate at, even the most minor improvements make an enormous impact, and you will be at the epicenter working on solutions that will take our supply chain to the next level. Our team works in a hybrid way: both from home as well as in the office. We are located right next to the train station of Zaandam.

The recipe for maximum impact.

• 0-2 years of work experience as Backend Engineer.
• Familiarity with Java / Kotlin, Spring framework / Spring Boot and Postgres.
• Bonus if you are also familiar with Cloud (Azure) and Kafka.
• An outstanding command of English
• Good communication skills and a willingness to learn from senior developers.
• Residing in the Netherlands.
