In this role, you will work on the strategic front end of industrial projects that shape the future of energy, bulk handling and logistics. You help clients make crucial investment decisions by combining technical insight with smart tools such as dynamic simulation and (parametric) 3D modelling. You grow in a rapidly developing market, with clear opportunities to develop into an expert or project manager.

What you will do

As a Junior Project Engineer, you work in the fields of bulk handling, materials handling and logistics for multidisciplinary projects in a market that is developing fast. You will be engaged in both small engineering teams and larger multi-disciplinary teams, taking responsibility from start to finish. You will participate in the preparation of feasibility studies, master planning, conceptual and tender designs, tender documents and evaluation of bids. As you will have regular contacts with clients it will be important that you present yourself and the company in a professional way.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Analyse client requests and define the underlying technical and strategic challenges.
  • Support feasibility studies, master plans and conceptual designs using simulation and 3D modelling tools.
  • Prepare tender documents and evaluate bids to advise clients effectively.
  • Present solutions and insights to clients in a clear and professional way.

Where you will work

At Haskoning, you will join an independent, employee-owned international consultancy that combines engineering, design, and consultancy services with software and technology.

As our new Junior Project Engineer within the advisory group Energy and Process, part of the Industry and Buildings Business Line, you will join a team with extensive knowledge of bulk handling, materials handling, logistics and supply chains. Our business-to-business clients operate sectors such as agribulk, minerals, chemicals, liquid bulk and heavy industry, both within the Netherlands and internationally.

We primarily work in the early phases of projects, helping clients design and optimise their industrial sites on a strategic, tactical and operational level. This ranges from translating client ambitions into initial design concepts and flow diagrams to selecting the optimal technical solution, based on a strong understanding of underlying processes. You support clients in answering essential questions such as:

  • What is the real challenge behind the client’s initial request?
  • Which technical solution best fits this challenge?
  • What capital investment (CAPEX) is required, and how can we optimise it?
  • What is the most effective procurement strategy?
  • How can we phase the implementation intelligently to reduce initial costs?
  • What are the practical next steps to realise the project?

What you bring

You are proactive, entrepreneurial and flexible in your way of working. You know how to collaborate effectively with colleagues, communicate professionally with clients and present yourself, our company and projects in Dutch and English.

Moreover:

  • You have a university degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 0 – 10 years of relevant professional experience
  • Professional proficiency in both Dutch and English
  • Live in the Netherlands and near our office in Delft
  • Willingness to travel to visit our clients
