As a SHE-Q Engineer within Seabed Intervention, you play a central role in strengthening our safety culture, improving safety performance, and continuously enhancing our work processes. You support projects worldwide, working closely with office teams as well as the crews on our specialized Subsea Rock Installation (SRI) vessels. You are part of the SBI organization and report to the SHE-Q Manager, Seabed Intervention.
Your responsibilities as a SHEQ Engineer
- Act as the first point of contact for SHE-Q within SRI projects, supporting management, project teams, and vessel crews.
- Maintain a close working relationship with SRI vessels and visit them regularly—for example, during project preparation, kick‑off meetings, or project visits.
- Coach colleagues and provide on‑the‑job training on SHE-Q processes, NINA values, and risk awareness.
- Provide SHE-Q expertise by contributing to Risk Assessments and Job Hazard Analyses, preparing (project) documentation, and advising on mitigations and improvement measures.
- Initiate and coordinate audits, training sessions, assessments, and toolbox meetings to strengthen knowledge and safety culture.
- Bring a clear vision on SHE-Q policy and actively contribute to its further development and implementation within SRI.
- Serve as a motivated and credible ambassador for our NINA program.
Your qualities
- Completed higher professional education (HBO level).
- SHE-Q qualification at bachelor level (e.g., NEBOSH, Quality Management, Auditing).
- Knowledge of NINA and experience with SHE-Q policies, systems, and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably within an international, project-driven organization.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation and standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO).
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex topics clearly and effectively.
- Strong analytical abilities, with a keen eye for risks and practical improvement opportunities.
- Authorized to work within the EU.

- Your team: As SHEQ Engineer, you will be part of the SHEQ SRI team and report directly to the SHE-Q Manager, Seabed Intervention.
- Where you will work: You will work partly from our head office in Papendrecht; a big part of this role is spending longer periods working abroad.
