What are you going to do?

As a Knowledge Designer, you develop tools and materials that enable effective knowledge transfer. You also design and set up knowledge systems that support learning and day-to-day work. You work on multiple projects simultaneously (typically 2–3) and are part of a small, multidisciplinary team. In this role, you work under the supervision of a project manager (senior colleague).

You regularly coordinate with clients, sometimes through the project manager and increasingly independently. As you gain more experience, you are given greater responsibility and more freedom to lead projects and make independent decisions.

• You design and develop information products such as documentation, training courses, and training materials. You also support the setup and improvement of knowledge systems.
• You write texts in Dutch and English and create simple illustrations. If you are skilled in creating illustrations and multimedia, you will have the opportunity to do more in this area.
• You gather information from clients by reviewing available documentation, conducting workplace analyses, and performing task analyses. You also facilitate sessions and workshops with clients to collect information and evaluate the developed information products. This requires visiting clients regularly, on average 1–2 times per week.
• You usually develop information products using specialized software such as content management systems, InDesign, and e-learning software. In some cases, you work in Word, either because the client requests it or because it is the most practical solution for the project.
• You contribute to testing and evaluating whether the information products meet the required standards.
• You advise clients on information products, independently or under supervision, and actively contribute ideas for improvements.
• You participate in internal projects within Eluxis.
• After several years of work experience, you may take on the role of project manager for small (sub)projects. You may also handle smaller consultancy assignments or support the preparation of proposals, progressing towards a senior position.

What do you bring to the table?

• A good knowledge of engineering is required. You therefore have a technical education at college or university level;
• You write in Dutch and English. Command of both languages is a must.
• You can create simple visualizations - if you can do more, that's of course great.
• You can work well with software.
• You can work independently as well as in a team.
• You can communicate well with technical specialists and technical users.
• You are a strong person who likes to work hard and learn new things.
• You are willing to travel and work at customer sites. A driving license is very useful.
