Internship Financial Accounting

Do you want help shape our financial accounting team to a scalable and future-proof engine for growth?

The financial accounting team is at the heart of the finance function at Bol; we provide the company with accurate accounting data every month so we are compliant with laws, regulations and internal policies. This information is also used to steer the company and stay in control of business and our finances.

As an intern, you will be a member of the accounting team where you can help in different accounting related topics, from assisting in our month-end close, to preparing balance sheet reconciliations, and helping in improvement initiatives to make our team even more effective and efficient.

You can bring your learnings from the classroom to practice and also help us improve our processes with your knowledge and creativity.

What will you do?

As a Financial Accounting Intern, you are part of a multidisciplinary team and a member of our vibrant Financial Accounting Services (FAS) community. From day one, you will work alongside a dynamic and experienced accounting team, where you not only learn from professionals but also actively contribute to improving our processes.

This hands‑on internship is an excellent opportunity to apply your academic skills in practice and gain new knowledge in a professional environment. Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for the entire accounting process of bol.com. You use your eye for detail to ensure that all processes meet the highest accounting standards.

In addition, you are given the space to think along with us about automating work processes. Your fresh perspective is more than welcome. You help the team work in a more data‑driven way and discover how we maintain control over our figures in an environment where technology and innovation are key.

During your internship you will touch on various topics: from supporting month‑end closings and balance sheet analyses to aligning with internal stakeholders and contributing to projects such as the implementation of new systems. This gives you a varied experience and builds a solid foundation for your career in finance.

What do you bring?

We are looking for a energetic student with an eye for detail and who is always looking for how processes can be improved.

• You are currently pursuing an HBO/WO (Bachelor’s or Master’s) degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics / Data Science, or Financial Accounting/Control, and you have an interest in accounting and finance
• You are curious, independent, and not afraid to ask questions
• You master the Dutch and English language
• You are comfortable working with financial processes and large datasets (basic knowledge of SQL and BigQuery is a plus)
• You are available for 4 or 5 days per week
• You are enrolled at an educational institution for the entire duration of the internship
