As a Packaging Engineer, you play a key role in developing innovative and sustainable packaging solutions that are both technically robust and perfectly aligned with our brand identity. You stay on top of the latest developments in packaging, sustainability and legislation, and translate these into concrete, future-proof solutions. From drafting requirements and creating designs to testing and implementing packaging concepts, you are involved throughout the entire process. You collaborate closely with design teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure every solution not only meets functional and brand expectations but also complies with all relevant safety and environmental regulations.

In this position, no two days are the same. One moment you may be contributing to the long-term development of packaging for a brand-new product, involved from the concept phase. The next, you might be implementing a packaging change due to an updated product specification or improving an existing package to make it more sustainable, optimizing it for transport efficiency, reducing costs, or enhancing production performance.

About your team

At Quooker, seventy R&D colleagues work on the development of the Quooker system. The Expertise team is part of the R&D department and consists of approximately nine talented colleagues. The department also includes the teams Innovation, Mechanics, Projects, Systems, Electronics, Verification, Product Engineering, and Products.

Job requirements

• You have a relevant completed bachelor’s degree (HBO level). A completed NVC Packaging Professional qualification or a comparable degree is considered an advantage.

• You have at least 3 years of relevant work experience.

• You are a strong collaborator with excellent communication skills.

• You combine persuasive skills with flexibility.

• You work independently and in a structured manner.

• You have a good command of both Dutch and English, written and spoken.

• You are based in the Netherlands, preferably in or near the Rotterdam area.
