As Controllers, our main challenge today is transforming the way we and the business think and act. We are shifting from classifying costs as objects to viewing them as added value, empowering our higher goal of breaking free from fossil fuels. What drivers and KPIs would you define if you look at cost/allocation levels from this perspective?

If this innovative vision interests you, we have a great opportunity for you in our team Cost Allocations and SF Control. You will have the chance to improve business decisions and performance by providing fact-based and timely financial insights for both cost as well as internal cost allocations and working on end-to-end digitalization and enhancing the effectiveness of our finance processes.

About the role

What will you do?

In this role, you will work as a Senior Controller and be a member of the Cost Allocation and Staff Functions Control unit within Finance Business Support. We support the plan-to-perform process and create reports in cooperation with the finance business partners within SF Controlling as well as providing insights to SF cost allocation to business units. You will ensure quality and relevance in reporting and ensure that the organizational structure is mapped in the financial systems and models. You will also work with the development of the cost base of the Staff Function and identifying improvements in the allocation process.

In your role you are a pioneer in the use of digital reporting solutions. In close cooperation with CoE Data & Visuals, you actively promote further use in the finance area and the staff functions. You use the “Digital Planning” approach in the staff function areas successfully to contribute to a future-oriented controlling process.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Further develop and implement our financial model; continuously develop end-to-end Staff Functions financial data flow from cost to cost allocations; advise on improvements/changes in the financial model.
  • Create and deliver SF reports, providing actionable and relevant insights and drawing management attention to key decision topics; operate and maintain SF-specific reports/KPIs; execute services with high quality and timely delivery following common processes, policies and guidelines.
  • Use analytical techniques to interpret results and provide insights about problems, solutions or assumptions.
  • Monitor data quality, report to SF and signal issues to the CoE Data & Visuals; request changes towards the master data team or BPO provider.
  • Drive the change from static reporting to dynamic visualization of SF performance; promote adoption and implementation of digital reporting solutions such as Self Service and other leading practices such as leaner planning.

Who are you?

As our Senior Controller you will be comfortable in your role when you bring:

  • Relevant University degree (e.g. Business/Controlling) or comparable other education.
  • Experience in leading projects and change management.
  • Good understanding of internal and external developments and trends in controlling and the digital transformation of finance.
  • Experience/knowledge of complex system landscapes and different data sources, including the ability to create intelligent queries in different tools; experience working with multidimensional structures in different data sources and using analytical skills to set requirements to reporting and systems.
  • Fluency in Business English, both written and spoken.

To be a perfect match for this specific role you bring besides above mentioned hard skills the following:

  • Strong leadership abilities, including project and change management.
  • Drive change and continuous improvements while ensuring delivery.
  • High sense of responsibility and ability to work independently.
  • Skilled in managing and challenging stakeholder expectations respectfully and clearly.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in large and complex organizations, handling internal and external interfaces.
