ABN AMRO is responding to geopolitical instability, cybersecurity threats and increasingly strict regulations such as DORA by renewing and centralising contract management. In 2025, ABN AMRO established a central Contract Management capability within Procurement. Within the Supplier Contract Risk Management department, all risk-related activities for supplier contracts are managed centrally.

As Team Lead IT Contract Management & Third Party Risk Management (TPRM), you are a key member of the management team and directly responsible for the team that performs all contract risk management activities for I&T. You will lead approximately 16 professionals, each managing a portfolio of diverse supplier contracts. Together, you ensure that supplier contracts meet the highest standards of risk management and compliance, that the new department continues to be built and professionalised, and that the team and its members feel supported and able to develop.

Your job

As Team Lead IT Contract Management & Third Party Risk Management, you maintain strong relationships with IT leads, senior management and contract owners. Your stakeholders typically operate in IT or Risk, so affinity with, knowledge of and/or experience in these areas is a strong advantage. In addition, you will:

  • Provide leadership to a team of approximately 16 professionals, applying hands-on and operational management.
  • Ensure that, as a bank, we remain in control of TPRM risks and act as a strategic partner to our Contract Owners by translating Third Party & Outsourcing Risk policies into concrete actions within your team.
  • Advise and support business units and the Procurement department in selecting, contracting and managing suppliers. This is sometimes focused on risk, but for CIOs and ABN AMRO Hypotheken Groep you will cover the full scope of contract management, with particular attention to risk-mitigating measures.
  • Together with the other MT members and your team, further develop the new department into an efficient, quality-driven organisation with harmonised processes wherever possible.
  • Coordinate communication and escalation of supplier risks at strategic, tactical and operational levels to relevant stakeholders, such as contract owners and audit committees.
  • Facilitate training and awareness initiatives for employees and work closely with departments such as Procurement, Finance, Legal and Compliance to create synergy.
  • Be responsible for the people management of your department, including recruitment, development and performance management.

Working environment

Supplier Contract Risk Management is a dynamic, centrally positioned department within the Procurement domain. The department was established in 2025 and is currently in an exciting growth phase. Ultimately, it will consist of 35–40 colleagues across two teams serving the entire ABN AMRO Group: an IT team and a Non-IT team. In both teams, close collaboration with contract owners is central. The goal is to maximise the value of existing contracts while carefully assessing and managing risks.

You will also work intensively with departments such as Procurement, Finance, Legal, I&ORM and Compliance to ensure alignment and synergy in supplier risk management. Working within Procurement means being involved in a broad range of products and services. All purchases above a certain value or with elevated risk fall within scope—from consultancy and IT hardware/software to market data, security services, catering and learning modules.

Your profile

  • Proven experience in managing and leading an (operational) team.
  • Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of or experience with IT risk management and/or third-party risk management is required. Experience with contract management is a strong plus.
  • Affinity with IT and insight into the impact of technology on processes and risks within contract management (extensive IT knowledge is not required).
  • Experience in strategic-level stakeholder management and balancing diverse interests.
  • Strong ability to create structure and oversight, ensuring a well-organised working environment with risks under control.

We are offering

You will have the opportunity to further build a strategically important department and make a direct impact on how ABN AMRO manages supplier and IT risks. You will lead a team of professionals in a dynamic, centrally positioned environment where professionalisation, collaboration and quality are key.
