The opportunity
As Global Public Affairs Manager, you will help shape the regulatory and political landscape in which AkzoNobel operates, with a strong focus on the Netherlands and the European Union. You will design and execute public affairs strategies that protect and advance our commercial and reputational interests, while aligning global and regional priorities.
This is a highly visible role within Central Communications, reporting to the Head of Global Public Affairs. You will collaborate closely with senior corporate and business leaders, as well as Public Affairs and Communications colleagues across key markets worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
You will lead strategic public affairs initiatives, manage complex regulatory issues, and represent AkzoNobel in industry associations and stakeholder forums. A core part of the role involves advising senior leadership on political developments, risks and opportunities, and translating policy insights into actionable business strategies.
You will also coordinate closely with regional teams to ensure alignment of global priorities, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and enhance our digital public affairs capabilities.
You bring solid experience in Public Affairs within a multinational environment and have a strong understanding of Dutch and EU policy processes. You combine strategic thinking with executional drive and are comfortable operating in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
You have a proven track record in influencing regulatory outcomes, advising senior leaders, and building strong external networks. Fluency in Dutch and English is required.
