Introduction to the job

ASML is a global leader in semiconductor technology. To support the growing complexity of our service supply chain, we are looking for a Technical Lead – Supply Chain Automation & Architecture. In this role, you will design and guide the technical architecture for automation solutions supporting our global field planning processes. Your work will focus on custom Java-based applications, automation scripts, and the testing frameworks that ensure they are robust, scalable, and future-ready.

Role and responsibilities

As Technical Lead, you are responsible for driving the technical roadmap for automation and optimization solutions within ASML’s service supply chain. You will collaborate closely with IT architecture, developers, and supply chain stakeholders to deliver reliable, maintainable, and integrated solutions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design the architecture for custom Java-based applications and automation tools supporting tactical and operational field planning.
  • Define test strategies, frameworks, and guidelines to improve reliability, maintainability, and scalability of applications.
  • Ensure seamless integration with SAP and other core systems while adhering to ASML’s security and performance standards.
  • Align custom-built solutions with ASML enterprise architecture principles.
  • Mentor developers in test-driven development (TDD) and best practices for automated testing.
  • Lead technology selection for frameworks, APIs, and cloud-related integrations.
  • Assess emerging technologies and propose improvements to enhance system scalability and automation performance.

Education and experience

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in software architecture, technical leadership, or senior Java development.
  • Strong expertise in Java-based application development and system design.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit) and CI/CD tooling.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP), API design, and system integration patterns.
  • Understanding of architectural frameworks is a plus.
  • Experience or strong affinity with supply chain or planning processes is an advantage.

Skills

Working at the cutting edge of tech, you’ll always have new challenges and new problems to solve – and working together is the only way to do that. You won’t work in a silo. Instead, you’ll be part of a creative, dynamic work environment where you’ll collaborate with supportive colleagues. There is always space for creative and unique points of view. You’ll have the flexibility and trust to choose how best to tackle tasks and solve problems.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence others without hierarchical power.
  • Ability to coach others when driving the technical roadmap for automation and optimization solutions.

Other information

You will join the Engineering & Automation team within the Integral Field Product Planning (IFPP) department in the Planning & Delivery sector. IFPP is responsible for ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) with customers and managing complex planning challenges across a global network with thousands of unique spare parts.

The team’s mission is to drive planning excellence through intelligent automation, scalable processes, and continuous innovation. In this role, you will enable next‑generation automation capabilities that ensure ASML’s service supply chain can support fast-paced product upgrades and global system installs.
