By ensuring bol can weather disruptions without losing momentum. Our 13.7 million customers and 46,500 partners rely on a platform that stays fully operational, even when the unexpected happens. As the Business Continuity Specialist, you’ll embed continuity thinking into how we build and run critical services across amongst others IT, Logistics, Fintech, and eCommerce. Your ambition: to create business continuity practices that teams can trust and use with confidence when things go sideways.
Building resilience in an organization that moves fast and changes constantly. How do you balance preparedness with agility? How do you ensure continuity plans stay relevant when processes evolve seemingly overnight? And how do you inspire teams to take ownership of their own resilience? You’ll work across Product & Tech and several business teams, translating complex risk scenarios into practical, proportionate measures. Your success will be measured by how well the organization anticipates disruption and recovers without losing tempo.
You’ll join the Risk & Control team within Legal, Risk and Compliance, working alongside colleagues who focus on financial, tech, data, fraud risk management and broader risk domains. From a 2nd line position, you’ll maintain a clear overview of the environment, set priorities, and work closely with 1st line business teams to ensure the organization is prepared for disruptions – without introducing unnecessary complexity or paper exercises.
You’ll take a holistic approach (all domains are in scope) and apply a risk-based lens to ensure BCM measures are proportionate to the likelihood and impact of actual risks. You’ll guide teams in developing their own continuity plans, conduct exercises to test preparedness, and ensure the crisis management framework stays up to date and kicks in when needed.
Key responsibilities
You combine a bachelor’s or master’s degree with 5+ years of experience in business continuity, resilience, (IT) risk, crisis management, or a related field. Experience working in a consultancy role, 2nd line role or corporate setting alike is a bonus. You’re interested in a role that’s all about making impact and not just theory; you ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, and help teams think ahead. You understand IT well enough to frame continuity around real technical dependencies without getting lost in the details. Your communication skills make complex ideas understandable and actionable. You have a pragmatic mindset that instinctively homes in on adding value while avoiding unnecessary complexity. And you have the credibility and self-confidence to influence cross-functional teams. Familiarity with ISO 22301, ISO 22361, DR/IT resilience standards, and/or regulatory frameworks such as DORA is a plus.
You’ll join Risk & Control, a team within Legal, Risk and Compliance that has expanded rapidly in the past three years. In this team you’ll collaborate with colleagues focusing on risk management, internal control, fraud prevention, and business continuity to tackle complex problems from multiple angles. You’ll also liaise with IT Security, Data Management, and the Ahold Delhaize BCM team. The environment is professional yet welcoming. We value roles over job titles, generously extend trust and responsibility, and focus on developing our people. With 2,900 colleagues serving 13.7 million customers through 46,500 partners, what you build has a real impact. When things don’t go as planned, your plans keep us going.
