BCG Business Course: Beyond the Case

An immersive BCG Amsterdam experience

From May 18 to 22, 2026, BCG Amsterdam invites you to join our Business Course: Beyond the Case. A five-day, hands-on experience where you don’t just learn about consulting; you actually do the work.

You’ll work as part of a small, driven team on a real Climate and Sustainability strategy case in the Energy sector for a global organization. The challenge is rooted in real-world complexity and gives you the opportunity to apply structured problem-solving, data-driven analysis, and AI tools in a consulting context.

By the end of the week, you won’t just understand what strategy consulting is: you’ll know what it feels like to work at BCG.

Together with fellow high-performing students, you’ll:

• Break down complex problems into structured, actionable insights
• Combine quantitative analysis, qualitative reasoning, and strategic thinking
• Turn ambiguity into a clear, client-ready strategy

Throughout the week, you’ll be closely coached by experienced BCG consultants from the Amsterdam office. They won’t just give feedback on your output; they’ll challenge how you think, help you sharpen your problem-solving skills, and give you an inside look at how consultants grow at BCG.

Beyond the case work, you’ll experience BCG culture as it really is: collaborative, ambitious, and personal. There’s plenty of time to connect with your team, exchange ideas with consultants, and experience life at BCG Amsterdam, both during and beyond office hours.

Program Overview

Introductory Afternoon – May 13, 2026

Meet your fellow participants and the BCG team during a kick-off event at the BCG Amsterdam Office. Attendance is required, as you’ll receive all necessary information to prepare for the week ahead.

Departure – May 18, 2026

We’ll leave together from the Amsterdam office to the location early in the morning and begin the business course that same day.

Return – May 22, 2026

We’ll wrap up the course in the morning and you are free to leave in the afternoon.

BCG will cover all accommodation, travel and other expenses during the week.

We are looking for talented and driven students who are eager to learn and make an impact. If you are:

• Currently enrolled at a Dutch university,
• In your (pre-)Master’s or final year of your Bachelor’s,
• Fluent in Dutch,
• Excited about personal growth, teamwork, and making a difference,

…then this opportunity is for you. We especially encourage students from all academic backgrounds to apply. Whether you study economics, science, law, humanities, engineering or beyond.

The Selection Process

Step 1: Profile Screening

After reviewing your documents, we will select candidates to move on to the next step.

Step 2: Online Assessment Environment

If selected, you’ll receive an invitation to complete our online assessment between March 17–23, 2026.

The assessment consists of one 40-minute test that evaluates your reasoning skills: interpreting data, drawing logical conclusions, and solving numerical problems. A calculator is allowed.

Step 3: Business Course Interviews

Candidates who pass the assessment will be invited to a final round of interviews. These consist of two 60-minute case interviews, each including a business case and an interpersonal/fit component.

You will also be invited to a preparation call on April 1, 2026 at 17:00 to help you feel ready and confident.

Interview dates: April 8, 9, 10 & 15, 16, or 17, 2026.

Final results will be communicated shortly after the interview round.
