Vopak plays a vital role in global energy supply and the accelerating energy transition, operating a vast international network of 80 terminals worldwide. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping critical hydrogen (H2) and carbon dioxide (CO2) infrastructure, driving the strategic expansion of Vopak’s sustainable energy portfolio.

What will you do?

This position supports Vopak’s ambition in deploying capital for H2 and CO2 infrastructure development and will be part of the Global Business Development department. Reporting to the Executive Vice President Global Business Development, you are accountable for:

  • Strategic Leadership: Providing strategic direction to the organization for H2 and CO2 to ensure long-term value creation.
  • Strategy Execution: Formulating, implementing, and expediting the organization's global business development strategy for H2 and CO2 to accelerate our transition goals.
  • Partnership Management: Maintaining relationships with key industry players and identifying synergistic opportunities for large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge Excellence: Facilitate sharing of best practices and learnings across the Vopak network to harmonize our global technical and commercial approach.
  • Regional Empowerment: Actively supporting regional business development activities in our 9 Business Units, by providing the necessary resources and global alignment to close local deals.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Act as subject matter expert internally and externally, representing Vopak at the highest levels of industry discourse.

What do we expect from you?

  • Master’s degree in business, engineering or other related field; MBA preferred.
  • Experience in a related industry is highly desirable; specifically a deep understanding of the energy transition landscape.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial and/or business development roles in the H2 and/or CO2 domain with a proven track record of successful revenue growth generation and/or business development success in incubating, developing and closing greenfield/brownfield investment projects.
  • Ability to build strong and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders aimed at accelerating the company’s growth.
  • High drive for organization and a structured approach in a fast paced and challenging, sometimes demanding environment.
  • Strong team leadership and team management skills.
  • Current familiarity with market conditions and regulations impacting decision making within the global energy sector.
  • Excellent analytical abilities with ability to apply logical frameworks to complex problems.
  • Proficiency in the development, negotiation, and administration of commercial and transactional contracts.
  • Strong developed cultural awareness, oversees the broader senior stakeholder dynamics.
  • Excellent English communications skills, both oral and written.
