About the Role
OMA’s Rotterdam office is looking for an HR Officer to join our team. This is an entry-level role that offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of HR processes and gain hands-on experience in an international working environment.
In this role, you will play an active part in the execution of HR processes throughout the employee lifecycle, working closely with the HR team. You will serve as a point of contact for employees regarding personnel policies, people operations, and employment conditions, and you will help ensure that HR processes are carried out accurately and in line with applicable regulations.
The HR department in Rotterdam oversees and implements processes and policies related to the employee lifecycle across OMA’s global offices. This includes areas such as recruitment, employee benefits, salary administration, sick leave, health and safety, and immigration procedures.
We are looking for an organized, hands-on professional with a people-first mindset, strong communication skills, and an interest in developing a solid understanding of HR policies and procedures within a complex, international organization.
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of experience in a Human Resources role, internship, traineeship, or relevant administrative position;
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labour Law, Business Administration, or a related field;
- Basic knowledge of Dutch labour law or the willingness to develop this knowledge further;
- Strong organizational and documentation skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Proficiency in English; Dutch is an advantage;
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion;
- Experience with, or interest in, cloud-based HR and ERP systems;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
Responsibilities
- Execution of HR processes such as onboarding, performance management support, absenteeism registration, employment conditions, and payroll-related administration;
- Monitoring and maintaining employee files and HR data, ensuring compliance with HR-related laws and internal policies;
- Ensuring that all new hires, departures, absences, promotions, and other employee changes are recorded accurately and on time;
- Assisting with visa applications, residence permits, and work authorization checks in coordination with external providers and internal stakeholders;
- Supporting immigration-related administration to ensure compliance with local regulations;
- Ensuring timely and clear communication of employee data, both internally and with external providers, such as pension and occupational health providers;
- Maintaining accurate HR records and supporting the preparation of reports related to employee leave, compliance, and other HR metrics;
- Reviewing and supporting accurate timesheet registration for employees;
- Supporting the intern lifecycle, including onboarding, performance evaluations, and exit procedures.
