As Allround Shipselectronic Engineer on one of our cutter dredgers, you will keep advanced systems running while being part of a tight-knit crew with real impact.

THE POSITION

For our cutter dredger fleet, we are looking for an Allround Shipselectronic Engineer to work on a 5-weeks on/off rotation. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer on one of our modern dredging vessels and encounter a wide range of electrical and automation systems. You maintain and optimise these systems and ensure that all related documentation and ship’s administration is accurate and up to date, in line with Van Oord standards.

YOUR IMPACT

As Shipselectronic Engineer, you will be responsible for the electrical processes on board, from daily maintenance to preparing for major overhauls. Depending on the size and complexity of the ship’s systems, you may work solo or alongside another engineer. You:

  • Maintain and optimise electrical systems in coordination with the Chief Engineer
  • Prepare for major maintenance and modifications by drafting a modifications list
  • Ensure the ship’s electrical system documentation is accurate and up to date
  • Work independently or with a colleague, depending on system complexity

ABOUT YOU

You are hands-on, resilient and ready to take responsibility. With a proactive mindset and strong technical know-how, you support your crew and keep operations running smoothly. You have:

  • A qualification in Electronic or Electrical Engineering
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in maritime or industrial automation
  • Knowledge of PLCs, networks and navigation/communication systems
  • Good command of the English language, spoken and written
  • Valid STCW certificates is a must
