At our yard in Heijningen, complex steel structures are designed, manufactured, assembled, tested, and inspected for the most challenging offshore projects worldwide. Think of components for subsea pipeline installation, heavy lifting operations, and innovative solutions for the energy transition.

Approximately 200 employees work at the Heijningen location, including welders, fitters, mechanics, work planners, draftsmen, warehouse staff, and estimators. The atmosphere is down-to-earth, no-nonsense, and focused on collaboration and results.

Manager Fabrication

About the Role

As Fabrication Manager, you will lead all fabrication activities at our Heijningen site. You are responsible for delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget, while always striving for the highest technical and quality standards. In this key position, you indirectly manage a dynamic team of around 80 FTE and ensure continuous improvement and efficiency within a modern production environment. You combine strong organizational, technical, and people management skills to make a difference together with your team.

Your role

  • Lead and successfully complete all fabrication and production activities in line with technical and quality requirements
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Enforce strict compliance with safety systems and actively promote a safe work culture
  • Prepare and manage work schedules, workflows, and resource planning
  • Motivate and guide employees and contractors for maximum performance
  • Ensure effective collaboration with other departments (such as the warehouse) at the Heijningen yard
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal project teams at the Delft office
  • Uphold discipline and compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Initiate efficiency improvements and cost-saving measures
  • Provide management support and training to team members
  • Ensure proper reporting, investigation, and follow-up of incidents
  • Maintain strong client relationships and guarantee customer satisfaction
  • Select, audit, and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors; request and assess quotations
  • Negotiate and conclude purchase contracts according to company standards
  • Collaborate with senior management on medium- and long-term strategy
