Your assignment

DEMCON LS&H develops high-tech solutions for minimally invasive interventions, which reduce the burden on patients and accelerate recovery. These systems enable precise control during procedures, making interventions more effective and efficient. By integrating advanced technology, we ensure that medical interventions are not only safer but also more patient-friendly.

You will contribute to the development of a minimally invasive system that assists physicians in positioning and tracking a needle during procedures. Your work will focus on improving real-time needle tracking within CT scan images and enhancing the existing software, including its GUI. This involves integrating advanced imaging techniques and real-time data processing to support accurate and efficient needle placement.

Your main tasks include:

  • Setting up and optimizing imaging analysis algorithms
  • Enhancing and integrating the needle tracking system within the imaging framework
  • Exploring and evaluating 3D visualization options for the tracking system
  • Enhancing the current software by improving the GUI and optimizing the existing C# and Python codebase for functionality, performance, and maintainability.
  • Validating the performance of the tracking system
  • Preparing interim and final reports of your findings
  • Performing experiments for testing purposes
