Introduction to the job

ASML is a Dutch, innovative high-tech company and one of the most important manufacturers of machines used in the making of chips. Now, there is a worldwide shortage of chips, which means that technological developments worldwide come to an abrupt halt. The continued production of ASML machines is therefore essential for technological developments.

The TWINSCAN Factory (TF) is responsible for the production of ASML lithography systems, including planning and logistics. We strive to be the role model Lean Factory where quality comes first but where safety goes before all.

Within this sector, ASML Motion is responsible for production and qualification of complex, high-quality litho-specific linear actuators for the ASML Litho Systems (XT, NXT, NXE, EXE). These systems are built and delivered according to customer requirements, in time and at the right quality. To reach these goals, we use the full capability and knowledge of our employees, empowering them to excel in their jobs, work as a team, and improve every day.

Do you want to be part of our dynamic and innovating working environment to further strengthen our manufacturing process? We might be looking for you!

Mission

The goal is to produce actuators to the highest quality by creating an optimized production process. This includes designing, maintaining, adapting to changed output requirements, and optimizing production processes, as well as developing and applying methods of measuring the performance of the production process.

Roles & responsibilities

As Production Engineer you:

  • Perform work preparation in the broadest sense, including laying down operating instructions, process flow charts, production sequence, production tooling, process parameters, and indicators.
  • Provide second line support (SLS) to the production organization when First Line Support (FLS) requests additional help to solve disturbances in the production process.
  • Perform failure analysis on (customer) quality complaints and nonconforming products and processes.
  • Provide technical knowledge to support and improve the production process.
  • Coach and train operators and engineers to secure skills, product, and process knowledge.
  • Provide technical knowledge to support New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Be the technical knowledge owner of all production processes.
  • Continuously analyze the production processes, point out structural problems and bottlenecks, work out suggestions for improvements, and initiate their implementation, often in close cooperation with surrounding departments such as Development and Engineering (D&E), Production Natural Team, and Logistics at ASML Motion.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Teams.

Within the Production Engineering group, there is the possibility to grow towards a coordinating role, focusing on work distribution and prioritization, escalation management, the development of junior engineers, and support in complex (cross-department) projects and topics.

Education & experience

  • Higher Technical College (bachelor) in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics, Applied Physics, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience in a production environment with high-tech products and complex production processes.
  • Experience in the field of Technical Production Engineering and quality methodology such as statistical process control (SPC) and methods such as FMEA is an advantage.
  • Experience in the field of (semi-) automated production lines and control is an advantage.
  • 3-5 years relevant work experience is preferred.

Skills

  • Combining an analytical approach with a hands-on mentality.
  • Focused on quality and continuous improvement.
  • Good social and communication skills to work with other departments, such as production and development engineering.
  • Good organizational skills.
